Something that a lot of people have been missing regarding AFO and Toya/Dabi is that the anime suggests AFO used his Forceful Quirk Activation ability on Toya, forcing him to light himself on fire. It cannot be just a coincidence. Why would AFO just randomly be behind Toya that day? Knowing how AFO likes to plan multiple different ways to mess with other people, this is completely like him.

Dante Sparda

#SundayRundown Endeavor was upset at Toya in the flashback because he had been secretly training and getting burns on his body after Endeavor told him not to (Dabi’s trauma is based on neglect rather than physical abuse). Then AFO kidnapped Toya, which ultimately caused his family to believe that he was dead and made Toya feel forgotten. While it’s understandable why Dabi is doing what he is doing, he’s actively using his past as a shield from criticism for murdering innocent people and attempting to kill two of his siblings, which I loved that Shoto pointed out because nothing that happened to you in the past can ever justify becoming a mass murderer. Also, Endeavor has faced the public, confirmed the things that Dabi has said, and now has to let his youngest son defeat his greatest failure because he’s needed elsewhere. Not saying it’s the same as facing a prison sentence, but Endeavor has been held accountable and will continue to suffer consequences ever since Dabi revealed the truth. Endeavor is a terrible father and husband, but he is a hero, the Flame of Hope, and he is trying to be a better man by trying to atone, not redeem himself, with his family.

Dante. You have all my praises. Thank youuuu. I wish more fans (not talking about the normies, they get it, or will soon.) would realize that Endeavors arc is about atonement not redemption with his family. I don’t like Enji at a person but he’s one of the best characters I’ve read about. I hate him but I love what they’ve done with his character. They could have easily have him just be a plain horrible person being a hero. But instead they gave his character some real depth. It’s incredible
