You Can’t Lift That
Written By SteeleBlazer
In the Fortress of Solitude, Superman felt the place rumbling, like it was shaking from its roots. Bam, bam, bam it went, and he followed the noise right to his super gym and entering the gym—bam!—he found Lois Lane, but she wasn't the same old Lois. Nope, she was muscular powerhouse, wearing a silver shimmering bikini, her muscles bulging out like newly inflated balloons. And right in front of her was this humongous barbell, all shiny with weight plates that seemed to sparkle even in the weird gravity of the fortresses artificial gravity which Superman could tell was set to some of its highest settings
"Lois?" Superman couldn't believe his eyes. His jaw almost hit the ground. He'd never seen Lois like this. She just grinned a coy smile, loving every bit of the shock on Superman's face. She just stood there, all muscles and smiles, claiming she was lifting that colossal thing. Superman? He was beyond surprised. He thought muscles or not there was no way she could ever lift a barbell like this. For one, this was his heaviest barbell and it was made of the densest metal alloys known to both mankind. Why even without the artificial gravity, it was a barbell that he’d himself would have struggled to lift. And again as impressively muscular as Lois was, she was not only a woman, but a human woman, and he was Superman and she wasn’t.
Superman sidled up to Lois, his cape swooshing behind him like a comet's tail. "Lois, what in the world are you doing here?" His voice held a mix of surprise and incredulity as he eyed her, disbelief etched across his face.
"Working out, Supes!" Lois beamed, flaring out her shoulders and flexing her muscular chest and her muscular bosom bobbed up and down as her breasts strained the shiny fabric or her bikini top.
His laughter rumbled through the chamber. "You? In my gym? Lifting weights?" He gestured dramatically at the barbell, his confidence unwavering. "No chance, Lois. That's too much weight for anyone, especially a human… Let alone a woman like you."
"Why not?" Lois grinned, undeterred. "Just because I'm a woman? That's old news, Supes." Her determination glinted in her eyes.
Superman shook his head, a smirk playing on his lips. "Lois, you can't lift that." He pointed again at the colossal barbell, his tone bordering on disbelief. "You're human, and that weight is... well, it's just impossible!"
"But why not?" Lois's laughter echoed off the walls. "You think I can't because I'm a woman?”
Superman laughed and told her the honest to goodness truth. He said to her, “You can’t possibly lift that weight, not just because you’re a woman… But, because I am Superman and even I would struggle lifting that weight.
“Oh, is that it,” Lois said as a her lip curled in a sly smile.
Lois stood tall, her hands planted firmly on her hips, a mirror image of Superman's iconic stance. Her grin sparkled like sunlight on polished steel, confidence radiating from her wide shoulders and bulging muscles. Muscles bigger and larger than even the those of the Man of Steel.
Her gaze met Superman's, and for the first time, he noticed the stark contrast—her shoulders broader, her muscles not just more defined but bigger, an embodiment of raw strength that seemed to challenge even his superhuman might.
"Maybe, Supes," Lois teased, her smile widening, "you can't lift it because you lack the strength."
Superman chuckled, his laughter echoing in the chamber. "Lois, I'm Superman. Strength isn't exactly my weak spot."
"True," Lois agreed, her voice holding a hint of playful challenge, "but these mighty female muscles of mine, they're bigger than yours. And look at these shoulders." She puffed them out, a grin tugging at her lips. “They’re so much larger and wider than yours!”
"Size doesn't matter," Superman retorted with a confident smirk. "Take it from not just from a superman, but thee Superman."
A mischievous glint danced in Lois's eyes. "Take it from a woman, Superman. Size matters." And she puffed out her chest and shoulders once again, only this time her muscles bulged out even larger than before.
Superman continued to chuckle, his laughter mixing with amusement and admiration, but there was an feeling of unease and doubt… He had come into this gym tracking down a loud, shaking noise, and something had to create that noise… But, he still can’t believe it was from Lois lifting that massive barbell on the ground. It had to be something else that caused that shaking, because there was no way Lois could lift that. And so Superman could only laugh, because it was preposterous to believe such a thing, and all he could do was laugh about it.
Lois silenced Superman's laughter with a swift flex of her bicep. "My muscles are no joke, Superman. Check 'em out." With a flourish, she extended her arm, the bicep swelling before his eyes, a colossal mound of muscle that greatly defied his expectations while dwarfing his own superpowered physique.
She chuckled, the muscle only growing larger as she continued to pump it up with flex after flex. "What's the matter, Superman? Feeling a little jealous that I've got bigger muscles than you?" Her tone was playful, teasing the Man of Steel, yet still had more than a bit of steely confidence imbued in it.
"Why should I be?" Superman countered, attempting to maintain composure.
"Because mine are so much larger," Lois teased, her laughter echoing in the chamber.
"They're not that much larger," Superman defended, trying to play down the obvious difference, but it only made Lois laugh harder. Her bicep remained an imposing testament to her strength, a point she was gleefully making known to the baffled superhero.
“Show me your Super Muscles Superman,” Lois teased him again. “Show me how big they are!”
Superman gulped… He knew size didn’t matter, not when his super strength was involved, but he also knew he really didn’t want to compare muscle size with Lois.
Yet, he was Superman, and he was never one to back down or run away from a challenge.
Bringing his arm up, flexed and primed, Superman felt a wave of shock wash over him. It wasn't Lois's size that stunned him, but the stark contrast between his powerful, super muscles and Lois's colossal, mighty female muscles. He wasn't accustomed to feeling belittled, yet there he stood, dwarfed by her sheer strength.
Lois laughed, her tone teasing, "Looks like mine are bigger, SMALLVILLE." She emphasized the "small" in a way that made Superman feel unusually self-conscious and he couldn’t help but blush slightly.
"How did you get so big?" Superman couldn't help but ask, his confusion evident by his rubber faced expression.
"Lifting those super weights of yours," Lois replied casually, her laughter ringing through the air. "Maybe you should give it a shot. You might get muscles as big as mine."
"Come on, there's no way you can actually lift that!" Superman blurted out, a mix of disbelief and awe in his voice.
Lois chuckled in response, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Is that so?" Her laughter lingered in the air, a challenge dancing on her lips.
Lois winked mischievously and, with one last playful flex, set her muscles in motion. Each limb shook and rippled with controlled might, her muscles bulging and swelling and dancing beneath her skin like a choreographed spectacle. Superman watched, awe-struck, as her body became a testament to her incredible strength, as her muscles seemed to have muscles on top of muscles on top of muscles.
With a saunter that exuded confidence, Lois made her way toward the colossal barbell. Superman's mind raced; he couldn't fathom lifting that weight himself, let alone with the fortress's artificial gravity at its peak. And after just spending just a few minutes in the room, he was beginning to feel the weight and gravity of the room, but also this strange weird situation, but Lois seemed unfazed, her movements spry and unrestrained. The way her body moved was oddly sensual, but also just watching her and her muscles move there was something a bit unnerving about it too.
A sense of worry crept over Superman. "Shouldn't you turn down the artificial gravity first?" His concern was palpable, a glimmer of fear flickering in his eyes.
"Why? Is it making you uncomfortable?" Lois teased, her tone light, though Superman was starting to feel uneasy.
"No, not at all," Superman lied, his discomfort evident, the setting affecting him more than he let on.
But deep down, he feared something else. What if Lois was stronger than she appeared? As he observed her poised to lift the colossal weight, an unsettling realization dawned on him—she looked incredibly, almost alarmingly, strong. And what if she really could lift that massive barbell?
In a swift, powerful heave, she lifted the weight, defying the fortresses’ oppressive gravity with an ease that stunned the heroic Superman.
"GREAT SCOTT!" Superman's exclamation escaped him as he witnessed the seemingly impossible feat.
Lois chuckled triumphantly, her eyes gleaming with victory. "Told ya I could lift that," she teased, her confidence shining through, but not half as shining or shimmering as those gorgeously engorged muscles of hers.
Superman could only watch in sheer amazement as Lois effortlessly hoisted the weight. It was beyond comprehension. There was no logical explanation for her ability to lift a weight that even the mighty Superman couldn't, could those mighty female muscles be not just bigger but stronger than his.
The realization struck Superman hard. This went beyond a mere physical feat. It shook the very foundation of his identity as Superman. Much as how the loud sound that he followed into this gym had shook the foundation of his Fortress of Solitude. He couldn’t believe it, but there she was, Lois Lane, with her unparalleled strength, standing before him, unquestionably stronger than him lifting a barbell above her head that he never lift in that manner himself.
This revelation rattled him to his core. Lois wasn't just strong; she was undeniably, inexplicably stronger than Superman himself.
But Lois wasn't finished displaying her exceptional super strength, super strength surpassing even Superman's. With a confident smirk, she let go of the barbell with one of her hands, and yet the weight didn’t fall to the ground it remained aloft. Using just one arm to lift the colossal barbell Lois started effortlessly lifting it up and down, her laughter echoing through the chamber. Her muscles bulging out with every lift, and so too did Superman's eyes bulge out as they widened in utter disbelief at the spectacle unfolding before him.
It wasn’t just that he couldn’t lift the weight… He could, just not in the same way or with the same ease that Lois could. This was a weight he could manage for squats or deadlifts, but pressing it overhead was a different story. Not even with both his arms could he perform such a feat, especially not for multiple reps, and especially not under the fortress's intensified artificial gravity. Yet, there was Lois, effortlessly maneuvering the weight with just one arm.
"How... How is this possible?" Superman's voice trembled with incredulity.
Lois chuckled, her amusement apparent. "Because I've got mighty female muscles, Superman. No matter how super you are, you're still just a man."
"Quit joking around, Lois," Superman insisted, a hint of disbelief in his tone. "You can't possibly be stronger than me. I'm Superman," he asserted, trying to make sense of the impossible sight before him.
Lois paused in her lifting but continued holding the colossal weight high above her head, flexing her free arm to showcase her extraordinary strength. "The only joke here are those muscles of yours. This is what a super bicep looks like," she quipped, a playful glint in her eye.
"But that's impossible," Superman protested, his confusion evident.
"No, just hard work, determination, and some really, really heavy weights," Lois countered, her voice filled with confidence. "You should've made use of your gym, but it was collecting dust. Now, my physique leaves yours in the dust!"
Superman couldn't comprehend it. Simple as it all seemed, it just couldn’t be possible. He observed Lois still hoisting the massive barbell above her head and displaying her immense bicep, and despite not having lifted the weight himself, nonetheless, the oppressive weight and gravity of the situation pressed down on him, much like that of the fortress's artificial gravity pushed to its limits was still pushing down on him.
This had to be some weird kind of joke. Only Lois’s muscles certainly were anything but a joke, with how massive and large they were.
"But you can't lift that!" Superman exclaimed, his disbelief palpable as he stared at Lois and the colossal weight she held overhead.
Lois slowly brought the weight down, almost resting it on her shoulder, her bulging bicep coiled with power. A triumphant smile graced her face as she countered, "But I have, and I am lifting it... In fact, it feels a bit lighter than I expected. I wish your artificial gravity could go higher to give me a proper challenge."
Superman pondered her request, realizing how taxing the heightened gravity was on himself, struggling to maintain his stance, and he had a few wishes of his own. He wished he was a strong as Lois, and surprised at that thought, he tried to shake it from his head, and yet the thought lingered as all he could see was Lois standing before muscles brimming with power. He could only stand in increasing disbelief as he witnessed how effortlessly Lois held the immense weight, and he had another wish, wishing that this was all some kind of strange trick.
"This has to be a trick!" Superman insisted, a note of desperation creeping into his voice.
Lois chuckled, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Yeah, the trick is simple, Superman. You need Mighty Female Muscles, and well, you're just a man."
"If you can lift it, then so can I. I'm Superman," he asserted confidently, determined to prove himself. Yet, Lois simply laughed, giving him a coy smile that spoke volumes.
Lois gave a playful wink and a little wiggle of her eyebrows. "Well, why don't you give it a try, Superman?" Her tone was teasing, her eyes glinting with mischief, but her words were serious
With a confident shove, she pushed the weight toward Superman's chest. The sturdiness of the massive barbell against him caused his back to bow slightly. Now Superman was not a man who ever backed down, but he’d never felt anything like that little shove from Lois. For starters it was anything but little, he was the Man of Steel and an unmovable object, and yet Lois and that dumbbell just moved him back, even if only just a little. Yes, Superman wasn't one to back down, yet the force exerted by the barbell seemed to overbear him already.
Lois giggled at his hesitation, finding his reaction rather amusing. "Seems a bit too heavy for you, doesn't it? But hey, I'm just a woman; what do I know?" Her playful tone danced in the air. "You're Superman, and if you insist you can lift that weight... Well, I insist you give it a try."
And just like that, she insisted, her challenge hanging in the air as Superman grappled with the monumental task before him.
Lois released her grip on the weight, and despite Superman's vast superpowers and near-limitless strength, the combination of the heightened artificial gravity of the super gym and the additional metal mass of the Dark Star metal alloy barbell proved to be an immense challenge, a test beyond his mettle.
And so the truth of the whole situation floored him both literally and figuratively. With a thunderous crash, he landed on the ground, the colossal barbell crashing atop him, pinning him beneath its weight. In that humbling moment, the reality dawned upon him—no trickery or deceit was at play. He lay sprawled beneath the weight, while Lois, standing triumphantly above him, flexed her mighty female muscles, their strength not merely larger but truly stronger than those even the mighty Superman's.
Lois couldn't help but laugh jubilantly, her flexing muscles a testament to her triumph. "I told you I could lift that, and you really should have believed me. Because, it looks like you can’t lift that!" Her laughter echoed throughout the gym as Superman strained to free himself from the weight that seemed insurmountable.
"Come on, Superman, give it a try... Oh, I've got an idea!" Lois teased, a playful glimmer in her eyes. "Let's make it easier." With a simple command, she adjusted the artificial gravity back to its normal setting. He could feel the weight of what felt like an entire planet lifted from him, but even with the reduced pressure, Superman struggled to lift the barbell off his chest. Lois stood there, giggling mischievously as she watched his futile attempts. And she just kept on giving him a nice show of all her gorgeously engorged muscles as she just kept on doing various flexes and poses, showing off her superior superhuman physique.
Superman struggled relentlessly, attempting again and again to move the weight, while Lois, weary of her playful teasing, decided her workout was over. With a playful toss of her hair she said, "Alright, Supes, I'm done hitting the weights. I think it's time for me to hit the showers," Lois declared with a smirk, her muscles rippling as she strolled away.
As she sauntered away, giggling, her muscles bulged and bounced with her confident strut. Superman, pinned beneath the weight, pleaded for her not to leave him in such a state.
Panicked, Superman shouted after her, "Lois, you can't just leave me like this!"
With a laugh, Lois called back, "Oh, but I can! How can I help you? I'm just a woman, and you've said it yourself that it was impossible for me to be able to lift that!"
Impossible as it was, it was Superman himself who was struggling under the immovable mass of that barbell, Superman grunted, "Wait, don't leave! I need your help!"
Lois continued giggling, "Sorry, Smallville! I know you can’t lift that, but maybe one day, if you keep at it, you'll match my strength!" Once emphasizing the small in Smallville as she said it.
As she disappeared from sight, Superman realized the irony of his situation. Pinned under the dark star metal barbell, a weight even the Man of Steel himself could not lift. And yet Lois could lift it, and lift it effortlessly. The truth of it all was a crushing blow to his ego, albeit not as crushing as the actual barbell itself, and hard as it was he had to accept that Lois was stronger than she looked and stronger than him. And that yes she could lift that barbell, but he sadly could not…
