Explain like I am five: What are sigils, what are they used for, and how & why do they work?

Sigils are drawings, often made of letters. You put energy and instructions into them so they can do work for you. (I'd probably elaborate by comparing it to a computer or an electronic toy. You'd be surprised how well young kids grok that stuff)

What a great image; that's no 5-yr old tho. Sigils are a set of instructions that the people we can't see can follow, so they can help us out. Like when we stand at a corner and we want a bus driver to stop for us, we put up our hand for them to stop and take us somewhere.
