What is a commonly held notion about magick that you feel isn't true?

Hmmm. This get into the whole argument that everything is magick, it's just what works for you. I.e. scrying works for you but not for me. But, having said that the one I just don't understand nor do I put stock into, is crystals. I really don't get the whole "this tourmaline will bring about more happiness". I mean if charged as a talisman and rock or object can do that, but claiming a specific rock always does a certain thing, I just can't get down with that.
