I am always very hesitant to share my personal thoughts on The Forty Servants as I don't want them every to come across as "the only way" - its just my way, and your way is equally valid (mostly). That said, I do have a lot of thoughts about The Forty Servants & The Four Devils and I probably should share them, at least here (and probably discord) - anything more public than that makes me nervous as some sections of the greater Servants community - while amazing and most appreciated - can be slightly feverish, which is an energy I find very hard to deal with.

The Four Devils were my attempt to condense a humans wants and needs into the least about of divisions possible and settled on the good old categories of Health, Wealth, Wisdom & Happiness.

Recently
I felt it would be an interesting experiment to see where each of the Forty Servants would fit into these categorioes. As usual with this sort of thing, I was amazed at how easily they did... as if it was intended. I felt the same way when I sorted them into the elements back when I first did the Grimoire.

You will notice that under each Devil the Servants fall into cohesive pairs with some interesting insights coming from that. The order of the Servants below the Devils are somewhat random and not in order of any sort of importance, but the pairing is very deliberate.

I added the Unifying Sigil to the top of the layout but I suspect that this should be between it and the Devils:

I couldn't add it to the photo as my printer was a casualty of my recent bout of bad luck.

And to add some annoying occult bullshit mystery to this, I admit I have suspected  that the Hierarchy goes higher than the Devils since the Halloween Ritual in 2021 when something odd happened that I have yet to talk about. But while I have more than a glimpse of what this is, it's something I have not fully unpacked and it would be a disaster to speak about it until I do, as I may be very. very wrong.

Yea, yea... I know. Super unhelpful :) Anyway, here's the list:

HARVEN
THE DEAD - THE HEALER
THE MONK - THE ADVENTURER
THE DEPLETED - THE SUN
THE CHASTE - THE CARNAL
THE DEVIL - THE OPPOSER

JERDEHL
THE PLANET - THE MOTHER
THE GATE KEEPER - THE WITCH
THE FORTUNATE - THE ROAD OPENER
THE GIVER - THE BALANCER
THE FIXER - THE EYE

VHARMON
THE LIBRARIAN - THE GURU
THE MESSENGER - THE SAINT
THE THINKER - THE SEER
THE EXPLORER - THE CONTEMPLATOR
THE MOON - THE MEDIA

KRANVOC
THE FATHER - THE MASTER
THE DESPERATE - THE LOVERS
THE DANCER - THE LEVITATOR
THE IDEA - THE CONDUCTOR
THE PROTECTOR - THE PROTESTOR

And there you have it.

I suspect some of you won't agree with this arrangement, and that's how it should be, but this feels perfectly correct to me and I look forward to mining it for further insights.

I myself found two different arrangements, the first of which I will report here. The arrangement of the sigils of The Forty on the back cover in five groups of eight in alphabetical order makes for a perfect, simple platform for divination by pendulum and that has become my most frequent method of use.

Oh very cool. What exactly is your method? Go over each sigil until the pendulum moves?
