As you can see the pencil stage is quite rough, though you can still make out what is going on for the most part. I used to never do a pencil stage - I just went from the very rough layout marks to finished inks - as I thought it was a bit redundant drawing everything twice. However, when I changed my comic style for Turbine Syndrome it needed the extra attention to detail that a pencil stage can give.

However, that does mean that everything takes much, much longer to do.
