So, I watched the first 2 1/2 episodes. Some thoughts...The emails from the "Dr." read like they were written by someone trying to put on a particular vernacular -- both as someone learned and as someone of the area. Sounds like the stuff David Milch was writing for "Deadwood" except without all of the cussing. I agree with the guy's wife; they seem too contrived. Also, who takes a picture for documentation purposes and does not at least chuck a quarter in there for size? Yeah, eventually they got around to using a ruler, but seriously? Also, with the quality of cameras available like Ring and trail cameras, I have a hard time buying that smudgy lookin' glow-y shit is all that could be captured. I've gotten better looking pictures with a pinhole projector and an eclipse, ffs. However, if you want to suspend some disbelief, I can see where it does entertain. I look forward to viewing more. Thanks for talking about it because I would have otherwise blown it off.

Now on season 2 episode 3. More thoughts...At the end, they draw all of these comparisons between Point Pleasant (border town with a bridge), Stillwater (border town with a bridge), and Ashland (border town with a bridge). They keep showing the bridges; they have the rivers running underneath them. The researchers are saying the bridges themselves are transition places. They are, but not exactly in the way they are looking at them. They are saying that a bridge takes you from one place to another. But more so, a bridge with a river running underneath is a form of a crossroads. Crossroads are liminal spaces/transitional places. It's the intersection of the two that I think is what they are missing in importance.

Yea, they come up with some weird interraptions of stuff alright. But I think the main issue could be lack of focus - they're not really sure what the show is about.
