I only went to E3 once, in 2010. I was with my homie Jacob Patterson, a very cool shoe customizer who now runs an art gallery. We ran across DTLA to get to a shoe store to get tix to what we thought was just an eminem concert. What we arrived at was bonkers. The staples center bought out by Activision. All the beer and food was free which is a wild thing to do for thousands of gamer nerds and hip-hop fans. The concert consisted of the wildest acts. Deadmau5 and David Guetta, Usher, Chris Cornell, NERD, Rihanna, Eminem… I’m probably forgetting a bunch. Tony Hawk was there for that game with the plastic board. They said it best with E3 being our Christmas in the summer. It was always such an exciting time in high school for me. If this is the end, it's been a long time coming, but I'm mostly just bummed for the smaller devs that E3 helped come together and network. There's other events at least
