Greg here! According to the CDC, it's a development disability. https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/autism/facts.html. I only know the basics about Autism so I'm not sure if there's a debate about the definition/terminology, but I mainly wanted to come in and say that I highly the doubt the questioner meant any offense. <3

Yeah I figured! I have it myself (I had AS back when that was considered separate) and I remember on WrongPlanet.com there were more than a few people who would have been upset at being labeled as disabled specifically. It is a spectrum of course so I'd imagine there are those who have it so strongly that it can be seen that way.
