[WIP] Morrigan Aensland (Patreon)

I've done a Morrigan piece before, but the problem I had with the piece, is that she looked a kind of crazed; so I wanted to avoid going crazy with her face/expression this time. Compared to a lot of fighting game characters, her pose is pretty neutral; I want to take that challenge in giving her a pretty neutral pose but somehow make it interesting, but still feels like Morrigan's demeaner.

This turned out harder than I thought... Giving a character a neutral pose AND expressing the personality of the character was surprisingly tough. Morrigan's legs are posed very normally, similar to her actual fighting pose, so they couldn't really express the character. So all the expression had to go into the face and hands. I already knew the face I was going to go for was also pretty neutral, to fit her overall pose; SO NOW all the expression had to go into hand gestures to define her character. I could've just done the same hand gestures as her idle pose in the game, but one of the goals in this project is to explore & express characters in a different pose/position that has not existed before (in-game especially), but still believable in the character's nature.
