Ah! Plumber+Princess is finished! I'm almost done with a nice Adult Time Waifus set, and new YCH's are here too. This month I was unusually slow to draw, for some reason that I still cannot fully define. Seems like I've been distracted too much by local and world news, as many things are happening simultaneously. I'm particularly interested on AI, as I've always liked the idea of transhumanism and other sci-fi concepts. I find all this is fascinating. Regarding the Art/AI controversies, I think Pandora's box is already open so there's not much we can do. I think it's similar to my posture regarding art rewards/exclusives leaking: It will always happen so you need to work around it by creating value that can't be just digitally reproduced, like experiences and interactions. In the case of AI, I see it more like a rival and a tool, and I'm pretty excited to see an upgrade on human creativity in order to rise to the challenge.

Hard disagree. AI is less of a tool and more of an assembly line. It's the reduction of art from a meaningful craft that requires dedication and emotional investment and personal meaning into a series of repeatable patterns and codes churned out by systems that, by their very nature, cannot feel emotion or want or longing or have meaningful experiences. AI is not the evolution of art, but the death and replacement of it.

Pottery was once pure craftmanship, and are now mostly mass produced, but there's still craftsmen that love the art and make them for themselves and customers. I could spend like a week preparing prompts and model checkpoints in order to assemble unlimited waifus better than mine, but I still enjoy drawing so I'll keep doing it. It makes no more difference to me as when I learned to use vectors for lineart instead of pixels, or when I learned digital instead of irl inking. I prefer not to be too dramatic about it.

I like that you see the Pandora's Box is open whether we like it or not, for IA stuff xD So it would be muuuch better to make our peace with it, sooner than later. I can understand the panic insecurity of artists about it. But I'm quite sure it will be like all "industrial easy cheap mass production" and "craftsmanship" domains : there will be a lot of room for both. Regarding hentai specifically, given how blocked/pushed-out it is everywhere (because of it's "illegal but so juicy" foundation), I'd be surprise we get a hentai IA anytime soon. And this specific sphere might remain "human" territory for a loooooong time. But aside of all that, given how all artists I know are swamped as hell and busy enough for 2 or 3 entire lifetime, and barely 1% (... maybe more like 0.001%, lol) of requests can be taken care of, I would gladly embrace IA's help to provide the guds, lol, and cream out most of the basic stuff. We can divide requests by a thousand and still have a lot more left than human artists can handle, lol. Hell, if IAs could take care of 90% of my own work, and save my time to develop 10 times more stuff and ideas (or polished the precious little details I never have time to attend to), I would be soooo happy, lol xD "Fill in those blanks, IA, my wrist hurts and I got better aspects of this work to attend to!" The dream xD Maybe this whole IA ordeal is just poking at our insecurities, instead of raising the question : "wether you're replaceable or not, where's YOUR fun and pleasure to draw ?" If you aren't having any personal fun in drawing, what kind of job are IAs really taking away from you ? I think we're taking the problem the wrong way around, and are just fighting to get back to a situation which was already "questionnable" at best, I don't know.

Bro I was making AI hentai like a week after Stable Diffusion release! there's specific models for niche fetishes and poses for a while now. It's all going super fast, it is truly something to behold. But as you say, there's still tons of work to be done, and enough creativity and ideas to make AI useful beyond just mass producing porn. You should try GPT-4 for coding assistance, it's already pretty good! You might find some valuable help! :D In any case, many new questions have appeared in our world, and I'm mesmerized by it all.
