Mounts, Reputations, Gold Making and More – WorthIt Report – 29/12/2021 (Patreon)

Introduction:

This week we will be going over the direction and update towards the WorthIt Guides Addon.

This is currently being developed and this version is not In live as of yet.

Future Developments:

Following onto last weeks update I have started the changes towards turning WorthIt Guides into an in game guides addon for Mounts, Reputations, Gold Making, Exploration, Recipes and Professions.

The key idea is to create in game guides much like the Addon “Zygor” but for everyone and a Free Alternative to this. I will discuss my personal thoughts about this in the conclusion of this post.

I have compiled all Reputations and done a draft mock up of what the layout will be this will cover 109 Reputation guides as some can be fused into one guide which is a more efficient way of providing these guides. Quest links and Waypoint will of course be a factor in these guides also.

I am Starting with Reputations first due to this being fusing with a lot of recipes, mounts, etc... and as such I will be able to link these guides onto the other guides if required bringing a more helpful experience.

This will all be categorised with expansion first with tabs and then segmented with either Alliance, Horde and Neutral making it easier to see which ones are available to others. I am currently writing out all reputation guides which 109 is quite a fair amount but confident this can be achieved in a timely manor.

Additional Information:

A nice little feature I have added and am still playing around with is the use of Icons in the Tabs and Frames of the addon, in a sense livening things up abit.

With this I have added a tooltip for the minimap button “WorthIT Guides” to make it easier to find the minimap icon. In the future Slash commands will come into play but as of now it is providing the content for the addon first and then Quality of life things after.

Conclusion:

In conclusion and to sum it all up I am working on the reputation guides which is definitely going to take a while but if I keep my head down and keep working on this we should see some good features coming into play with this also.

However, my main goal for this is to provide a free in game guides addon as I would have loved this when I was younger playing the game so I am making this into reality. I have never been a fan of Paid addons as we already pay for subs which leads me to want to make this even more.

I am quite hopeful this will help more people by bringing this addons out to life and will keep working on this until completion.
