Hi everyone!

It's been a few days now and I'm still not quite sure I believe we've hit 1,000 patrons here in the Mad Fiction Laboratory. Sheer, amazing, but sheer madness.

Thank you all so much for your support and love and presence over the years--and we're just getting started, as the terrible action movies say! I am honored to be part of your lives and deeply, unspeakably grateful to each of you for making life as a full time writer and mother workable. I owe you all so much. You're my absolute heroes.

Sebastian, Lord Byron, Lumen, and Heath all thank you as well.

But more importantly than the fawning gratitude of this household, we've hit a milestone, and that means a new reward.

NEW REWARD JELLY TIME!

So every month, I'll now upload a postcard from one of my characters every month--and I have created quite an alarming number over the years so it really could be anyone, from September or Decibel to the dragon from What the Dragon Said: A Love Story to, I don't know, the third robot/time squirrel/football player from the left in some random short story.

The postcards will be accessible by all patrons at every level. I can't promise art for them, as I cannot draw, but you'll get a little piece of post-book life for one of the cast of thousands each month.

Now, I usually let the Mad Post-Doc tier ($20) Choose the Form of the Destructor when a form is to be chosen, and this time is no different. I'll put up a nominations post for that level (and up) at the beginning of the month, then fold all the suggestions into a poll. But unlike the media victim of the month, this poll will only be accessible to the Unverified Research tier ($15) and up--though as I said, everyone at every level will get to see the postcard itself!

Make sense? I hope this works for everyone, if you have an idea about tweaking this or any other reward, leave it in the comments. I want to make this a place that gives you what you want!

As for the next stretch goal, I honestly have no idea what the reward should be. If you have any suggestions, get ye to the comments! I don't think I ever really imagined we'd get to 1,000 patrons, so I didn't have any further plans...

This last week has been a total nightmare and January itself is a mean lady, but it's cozy in here, just you and me and the other 998 of us.

All my love forever and a day,

Cat
