It's Lent! I should say, I'm effectively agnostic by now, but the calendar still exerts a powerful draw on me I guess. I'm planning on the by now standard though somewhat charged up method of both giving things up and doing new things, though the new things are really old things made new again and the things being given up will really only be given up on weekdays. Coffee, sugar, excess milk, things like that. On a more exploratory front, I'm looking at taking up the keyboard again and properly finding my way through chess.com's lessons after getting stymied at en passant. Which I *think* I get now. My family thinks I'm being ridiculous, considering The State of The World, but my sister also likes to intimate that I'm getting fat sometimes, so really I'm doing it out of spite as much as anything else. Hopefully in a healthy way though! Other than that, work's been quiet lately, which is fine by me, except there's the occasional sense that I should be doing something even though there's really nothing to do. I've been sleeping better than ever this week, except when I haven't been. On average it's all worked out well, and I have one more day to go until I see how this week has gone, so I'm aiming not to worry too much. There was something else I was going to mention here but I've forgotten it. Mostly things have been good lately though.

Assignments! It was assignments. That's what I'd gotten in. I was able to get one in during the week, but I still have a long one due in two weeks' time. Which isn't too bad. This one isn't particularly intuitive, however, it's worth a third of the final mark for the module, and I'm worried about getting intractably bogged down in some of its sticking points. It's still early days, though, and once I transfer the raw code over to a more presentable solution that'll go a good way towards easing things for me.

I am periodically yelling about Facebook in Australia and then about Murdoch media in Australia and how completely brainfucked they both are in different but equally damaging ways because of course the collateral damage has been community members, community orgs, arts orgs, indie publishers... and these groups will not benefit in any way shape or form after the current stoush is settled. [*does US English not recognise the word 'stoush'? I always get a red squiggly line under it whenever I use it]
