Hellion Remake Concept (Patreon)

Hellion today. Refer to my earlier Crusader post for more general information about what this is.

For the Hellion it's mostly just quality and artstyle updates, she looks mostly fine already, but could use some work to bring the quality and consistency up. I did decide to change her facial expression somewhat, mostly because I wanted a more neutral expression for the idle sprite.

Next up is the Grave Robber.

Prefer the open mouth smile, makes her look more sadistic, also the lack of nipple impressions is saddening, still fantastic work as always.

I prefer having a more neutral facial expression for the idle sprite, since it's what she has in most less intense circumstances. Nipple impression is still there, just a bit more subtle.

Can't wait for these, loving the remakes thus far. I think I like the definition of the nipples under the clothing a bit more on the old skins but either way i'm happy. You think you are going to prioritize monsters first or push remakes out alongside them?

I think they mostly meant it for the right boob. I also noticed that you removed(made it very subtle) the nipple impressions from the others too. Maybe you could bring those back? It's a small thing but one that's appealing to many and adds a lot of extra detail.

the one on the right boob would be present with the shading. I have seen the feedback on the others about it, and I will keep it in mind as I iterate on the designs, keep in mind these are still subject to change.

Since it's taking you 2-3 months to release 1 character, are you really planning to work on mods for this game in the next 5-7 years or thought about using the donation money to hire people to help maybe? I'm only asking cuz I would hate to see you burn out and leave this Big project and abandon it, or delay it for eternity especially with DD2 coming out soon too.

DD 2 is out, on Epic Games yes, but technically out. Though by the fact that the art styles and model rigs are so different, I’m highly skeptical to whether Xelsword here will even be able to make anything for the next game, not to insult, just a fact.

Just got to say Xel your art work and style is amazing and unique. I hope everything is going well for you in life. I will continue to support you for a long time to come I'm sure. Anyway with that out of the way, Hellion's looking good. Smaller head, taller hips, bigger cleavage the usual stuff from your updates. I approve!

2-3 months for heroes, not so sure for enemies since they require less art and animation. (they don't need an idle animation or walking and less art needed since they typically have far less abilities than heroes'). Then again they're are more enemies than heroes'.

I tried to get some of my friends to support too, but they find it really sketchy that he hid the patreon counter and income while working very slow, so they passed sadly. Anyways I just asked cuz of future plans. While I know that stretching these out as long as possible means longer patreon support more money, but I'm of course worried that with such a long time, things might not get finished, or that he is taking too long to finish making people lose interest.

I have no plans of stopping, not unless I'm forced to, it will take as long as it needs to. I understand that it can be hard to wait, but I really want my work to be as good as I can make it. I currently have no plans of making stuff for DD2, I'm perfectly content sticking with DD1, and I get the distinct impression that is what a lot of people want from me anyway. I mean, DD2 is 3D, and my expertise is 2D, so I'm not sure why some people seem to assume I would jump to that game anyway, especially with how different it seems to be from DD1. Also, the patron counter and income is not supposed to be hidden, it says it's public on my end.

There will always be people playing DD1 anyway. The game's feel different enough from one another that some people will prefer one over the other.

I wasn't referring to you switching over to DD2 Xel, but people. In anycase, I do wish you the best Xel and I'm here supporting you to help. I'm just worried because I've seen it way too many times on patreon especially in the 18+ theme where people just abandon projects which take way too long once they milked their supporters enough, and patreon and income counter being hidden usually scares people away even more.

Well, I suppose we'll see, I don't see it changing anything to any significant degree. Also, is the patron and income counter really hidden for you? Because it really isn't supposed to be.
