potentially someone else could make a mod for them to become a party member.. since the issue at hand would be to make new abilities and balancing them afterwards.

I feel like the main issue would actually be the extra animations. I believe this enemy only has a combat stance and one attack sprite

It would not have very many attack animations compared to a proper class replacer, could reuse the same animation for several attacks of course. Would also lack a walking animation (and idle animation technically but you could just use the combat stance). Making one of these into a class mod would be a decent amount of work and is not something I intend to do any time soon, got other stuff I would consider to be higher priority.
