Welcome to Sanctuary, a relaxation series specially dedicated to those who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) where I try to convey a sense of safety while using a variety of ASMR triggers, such as hand movements, whispering and sounds from various objects, to help calm the viewer, ease their minds, relieve their stress and anxiety, and help them to sleep. In this particular episode I also introduce some positive affirmations in an attempt to help empower the viewer to think more positively about themselves and have a more positive outlook on life. Some positive affirmations used in this video: I deserve to be happy I am a survivor I am safe I am a good person I am a good parent / son / daughter I am positive I am strong I am free from addiction I am strong It's okay to say no I don't hurt others on purpose It's okay to make mistakes, everyone does I will live in the moment I can trust my intuition I am responsible for myself, other are responsible for their actions without my involvement I am capable of loving and being loved It's okay to do one thing at a time and not take on everything at once There are good people in this world For anyone new to my channel or this video, I am not a trained professional. I am just a regular guy who simply wants to do my humble little part to help others that need it. Why am I whispering? ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention. My videos are not only meant to help induce ASMR or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety relief, stress relief, insomnia relief, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and much more.
