Hey guys,
Hope you're all having a great weekend so far!

The wait is finally over for the second Patreon Behind the Scenes episode of Journey Across Japan: Escape to Paradise!

Featuring hilarious bloopers, outtakes and deleted scenes, find out what REALLY happened during our shooting of Dr Jelly in Japan's most spectacular tropical villa.

🌴 As mentioned in the video, the villa we stayed at was here:

Given the third episode in the series is so huge, it'll be an extra couple of weeks until our final outing in Okinawa featuring Ryotaro.

But in the meantime next week there'll be a Q&A episode out on Abroad in Japan, and I'll also be undertaking a major project in Hokkaido over the next 7 days.

Connor and I going to attempt to cycle from Japan's most northern point (Wakkanai) down to Hakodate - a 700km cycle - in about 6/7 days. It's going to be a real challenge, but given I left Hokkaido out of the original Journey Across Japan cycle, I'm really keen to give it a go. It also ties in nicely with my ongoing plans to become the fittest I've ever been by the end of 2022.

While Connor will be streaming it on Twitch everyday, I'll be filming it for an Abroad in Japan Wacky Weekend episode out at the end of September (after the final episode of JAJ).

Beyond that we've got an Abroad in Japan event in London on December 17th, the details of which I'll be sharing early next week.

So lots to look forward to, but in the meantime enjoy the video and I'll be back in the coming days with more details!

Chris

We stayed at a resort about 30 minutes from that Villa. Some of the most incredible sea & sky views I've ever seen! Also received the worst sunburn of my adult life at Kariyushi Beach!

Loving it so far again!! Thanks for the tons of work you all do in making Abroad in Japan perhaps the best YouTube channel around! Kind suggestion/request for the merch section for shirts and/or sweaters just with the abroad in Japan logo? Enjoy and stay awesome!!

So many events coming, so much to look forward to! I'm so proud of you and Connor for committing to a week-long charity stream, it will be very fun to watch and to support, I cannot wait!

i dont know why but instead of the anime man and natsuki it would be fucking awesome if you went to adventures with cdawg and risotoro sometimes instead. still amazing video

Sucks to hear it was so hard, but the end result is so damn good, you are really being to hard on yourself. You've cheered my up greatly with the content!

Leah Webber

It's really too bad you didn't get to enjoy the villa more. Don't push yourself too hard, sir. You deserve work/life balance, too!

Laura Beaumont

Thank you for all the hard work on Dr Jelly. I’m so sorry it was stressful… but, damn, you guys make the funniest ads! They always look so good! It’s so wacky and entertaining it could be straight off of Japanese television. As a Dr Jelly fan myself, I appreciate the suffering for the viewers. 😆❤️ And of course I bought the shorts. Hope you get to go back and take Sharla to that villa one day for a real relaxing vacation!

Kyle Tobin

Looking forward to the Hokkaido videos, such a great region of Japan. By the way, are you doing the Spartan solo or did you throw together a team for it?

Great job Chris! Loving the videos and updates :)

Aw I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the villa more Chris. And a shame the Dr. Jelly ad was so stressful to film. It was the best one yet IMO! As for the buggies...as long as you enjoyed yourself...that's the important thing. Not everything has to be educational, it can just be fun for fun's sake.
