Well hello there,

BIoody hell, I can't believe it's already August (it's been a disturbingly quick year so far). This month we've got plenty of awesome stuff coming up!

FIRSTLY for this month's Patreon exclusive video, I thought it was about time we interviewed Natsuki one-on-one, answering all your questions. We're going to be filming some scenes for Natsuki: The Movie next week, and I plan to sit down and interrogate him then!

► Send in all your questions here: https://goo.gl/forms/mNugPSXUAdBgLtY32
The video will be up for your viewing pleasure around August 20th.

SECONDLY the merchandise is coming along brilliantly - I've been buying up lots of samples to ensure the quality is up to scratch, and I'm excited that in a few weeks, we'll finally be selling merchandise worth buying; from t-shirts and mugs, to pillows and notepads.

The five designs at launch will be; "For Fuck's Sake", "Like a Magic", "Love Hotel", "The Fucking Cleaner" and "The Electric Box", with more to follow. Expect sample photos of products next week!
THIRDLY August has a great line-up of videos (all rather random). In order of release they are:

- How to Travel Japan on a Budget

Advice on everything from transportation and accommodation, to eating out on a budget, along with price breakdowns of each. By the end of the video, you'll be an expert on travelling Japan on the cheap!

- 24 Hours in the Japanese Countryside
Ryotaro and I venture into the countryside, where he attempts to kill me yet again in a variety of ways. Along the way we also try 'glamping' (glamorous camping), eat a pile of German sausages, and explore a ridiculous hotel room that the Emperor himself (yes the actual Emperor!) recently stayed in.

- How to Quit Coffee | 7 Days of Hell

For health reasons I've recently had to quit drinking caffeine, with devastating results. In this video I chart my 7 day struggle to survive the rigours of everyday life, without several cups of coffee on hand. Expect swearing and anger.

- Travelling Japan without Japanese
How hard is it to travel Japan without Japanese? I'm going to find out, by travelling from Tokyo all the way to the far north, without reading or speaking a word of Japanese, as well as giving tips and advice to foreign travellers, coming with zero Japanese.

So there's the line up folks! I hope you're looking forward to it all; there's also an NHK World episode coming up on August 25th, which I recently starred in and presented about rural Japanese cuisine; I can't say whether or not it'll be good, but if it's watchable, I'll be sure to publicise around the release date.

And of course, the release of Natsuki: The Movie is moving ever closer!
- Expect some bonus footage/early previews in the coming weeks on Patreon.

If you have any questions about any of the above though, please don't hesitate to ask away below.

I hope you're having a great week so far!  The next video will be up this Saturday if all goes to plan (and now that I've said that, I've probably just cursed myself).

Chris, were you putting up another Engrish video in the last schedule or did I miss read or miss it?

Chantal Ward

Oh man, all of this is super exciting! I've been wondering for years now how I could possibly travel Japan on a budget. My main goal is to eat a lot of authentic food and MAYBE buy some souvenirs that won't break the bank. Like some alcohol or something; you know, the important stuff. Anyway, I'm currently jobless and on disability support, so I'm really looking forward to that video. And I'm also excited for the traveling Japan without Japanese video because since grade 6, I've only ever learned enough to introduce myself (and others), order some food, and respond to things with only one word (はい and すごい! among others). I doubt I'd get on very well.

I've actually rolled it all into one of the 4 upcoming videos. The question is, which video is it?

By the way, you may want to change the Patreon supporter descriptions up a bit. One of them mentions that during the live show you'll be sitting down with a cup of coffee and answering our questions. That's false advertising now. :P

Traveling on a budget without speaking or reading Japanese sound like something I would need to know... as I'm a lowly, poor, non-fluent peon. lol :) Looking forward to the videos and merchandise!

If you sell a "What is it you seek.. in Fox Village" shirt. I will buy it.

I wonder if natsuki the movie will be available in cinemas

Despite all the money I give you through Patreon, I can't believe I'm gonna buy merch too..

Looking forward to seeing the zero Japanese vid, as I have friends who want to honeymoon in Japan but were worried about the language barrier. Not gonna lie though... I'm most excited about 7 Days of Hell. Bring on angry Chris!!

I'm in the same disability boat. Maybe we can learn more together!

Looks like a great line-up, can't wait!

Keeeeeen. I hope when I'm on exchange in Japan for 6 months I have a stable enough internet connection to keep watching all of this...

Dammit, Chris! Just when I had everything booked for my trip to Japan, you created that Japan on a Budget video! (nah, i just googled for that but would've loved to have seen your take on it)

Jason

Looking forward to these videos!

I'm going to buy the shit out of your shit, just you wait.

So i'll be heading to japan in a few weeks and have been wondering where Natsuki's hair salon is?

Anonymous

When are the video's coming out? :o

Anonymous

Hey Chris. I really enjoy all of your videos and hope you're having a great month! Cheers.

Will you be looking to get DVD copies of the movie on your merch? Small pressings can be dear but I think people would buy em still. Happy to help research!

abroadinjapan

Thanks James! It's tempting - I think it's a decision best made when it's completed and perhaps after release. For now the priority is on making sure it's worthy enough for DVD / hard copy!

Can't wait! :)

I am literally gonna buy one of everything the designs look amazing

Where is 7 days of Hell? I've been waiting for it as I went a week without my drug of choice, tea, and as is said, misery loves company. Will be upset if you get eaten by bears or blown up by Nork missiles before it is posted. Also please consider doing a KitKat chocolatory video. Am curious to see one vicariously.

Chris, It would be very interesting to watch the video about traveling without knowing Japanese. I hope it is still coming out soon... and has tips how to get around
