Hello Everyone! I am very happy to announce 'The Temple of Hydra Island', a collaboration between Tom Cartos, Domille's Wondrous Works, Toy Tokens & AudioGoblin. This free set includes three unique maps & 4 map variants by Tom & Domille, 16 creature tokens by Azzyfree of Toy Tokens, & 2 original music tracks by Alex of AudioGoblin.

Background

At one time, the mighty Hydra terrorised huge swathes of the seven oceans at the bidding of Poseidon. However, over many centuries of being at the beck and call of the vengeful God, it became tired of being treated like an attack dog. The Hydra turned on its former master, but was not powerful enough to overcome him. 

As punishment Poseidon turned the Hydra to stone, to slowly be eroded away by the seas it once ruled. To ensure anyone who might come across the stone Hydra would know of his victory, Poseidon transported one of his many Temples onto it's back. But in his careless arrogance, the magic he used tore a hole in the material realm. As a place where life honours death, the catacombs below the temple were already close to the River Styx, the boundary between the mortal world and the underworld. 

Poseidon's magic opened up this gateway, allowing a portion of the River of Death to flow through the lower levels of the temple, and many of the creatures that hover on the border between worlds were able to break through. The Temple now lies in ruin, guarded by the creatures that survived. It is said that some treasure still lies in the chambers below, but any who dare enter must be strong of will, as the River Styx calls out, seeking to draw in any who come close.
