The fire force mascots are actually a pun in Japan. To get an ambulance/firefighters in Japan you call “119” like 999 in the UK. Also in Japan a dog barking sound is represented as “Wan” while a cat meowing sound is “Nyan” So the mascots are “Wan Wan Nyan” = 119 = two dogs and a cat
