This arc is certainly not the best, but I think it's important to keep in mind that Fishman Island is mostly there to introduce some new power dynamics going on in the New World after Marineford (Big Mam taking over Fishman Island after Whitebeard's death for example), to showcase how much the strawhats have grown in power and to set the audience up for future arcs. With that in mind it's actually quite enjoyable in my opinion. Some pretty important lore pieces will come up, too, so you can look forward to that.

Yeah, i mean i like this arc it is good but it is mainly setup arc.

A lot of people are "hating" on Fish Man Island but I personally think its a decent arc with some really nice moments and reveals. Its not the best, but it also doesnt deserve the amount of hate it gets. and yea the sanji stuff in this arc is annoying, I agree haha

i really enjoy this arc, its slow for sure, and might not feel grand compare to other arcs, but its a great opening arc for the strawhats. The anime im sure butchered it more than it needed compared to the manga though. This arc has one of my favorite back stories as well as lore left and right and new characters that you want to keep an eye out for, but its like very smooth lol, you either notice it or not as you go in future arcs, damn Oda. It also has one of my favorite themes story wise! enjoy :D it will suck when y ou guys catch up without spoiling anything, Oda plays the long game with some parts with this arc as he always does and gives us answers to some questions, and with that even more questions that we are still looking for lol

Fishman island is a solid arc. Low-key overhated. It has cool ideas and really ambitious themes, but has a lot of structural problems and fluff that drags it down.

Skypea, Thriller Bark, and Fishmen Island. One of the thing these three have on common, especially the 1st and 3rd, is that the Strawhats kind of arrive there as "tourists" without clear objective. In a sense, they are waiting for the plot to happen to them instead of arriving to the island as part of an active questline. Like, they arrive on Grand Line, meet Vivi, and until Arabasta, Baroque Works is the main antangonist. Even when they arrive on Drum island, they are in a hurry because (1) Nami is sick and (2) Vivi needs to get back to her country. Then Skypea. In Water Seven, first the Merry is falling apart, forcing them to seek out shipwrights, then Robin is in danger, and they head to Eneis Lobby. Then Thriller Bark. When they arrive on Shaboady, they are there to get their ship coated. Plus just met Hatchi, there is tension around the Celestial Dragons, which leads to Camie's kidnapping, Kizaru and the scattering. On Maiden Island, first Luffy is trying to get back to his friends. Then it's a non-stop rush to the war at Marine Ford. Second passage at Shaboady, they are coming there to reunite. Then Fishmen Island.
