well its not exactly cannon so, why would it be of importance to the story? why have a cannon movie and make it so limiting! BC went hard on this movie. none of us expected an amazing movie like this.

The movie is canon. It was based on the light novel created. The light novels are considered canon to the overall story. One example being fanzell. He initially appeared in the light novel, then showed up in the manga out of nowhere. The anime episodes that adapted his training with asta, and his backstory were from the light novels, not the manga.

I think Fanzell appeared in manga out of nowhere. Then later LN came out about his training with Asta, then when anime got there they adapted LN into anime.
