This is one of my top ten favorite shows (a category that holds about 30 titles 🤣) and when I was considering shows for you to react to I rejected this one as one that you would spend the whole time trying to figure out what was going on with nothing left for reaction. This now makes me want to reevaluate my entire process. It has been forever since I rewatched the pilot as the second episode is one of my favorites and I rewatch it fairly often. I had not remembered just how many of the moving pieces are put in place right from the get go. This was a wonderful thing to wake up to. thank you sheriffjt for the recommendation and you Ana for the excellent reaction. I remember thinking when you said 'I know absolutely nothing about this show' I thought and at the end of this episode you still won't:) and I stand by that.

It's based on a british book series by douglas adams who also made hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, and did some stories for doctor who, as well as some other stuff BBC originally did a british tv adaptation consisting of a pilot episode and a 3 episode series, making 4 episodes, it's really different from this series though

While the character is loosely based on the books (he even references them when he talks about solving cases involving a sofa and Thor), this is all new material with a new back story. The British show (at least the first episode, the only one I saw) more closely mimics the first book.
