I think that after watching a couple more times my opinion changed a little and I liked it more, but I still feel like some things felt rushed. Regardless, I love this show and I had a great time in the finale.

On another note, I will be taking this month off from my long running regular shows and will focus on more Patreon exclusive content like the movie reactions and the TV show recommendations for the highest tier. So, we will only have one episode of Arrested development and one episode of It's Always Sunny during December.

The link is for Rick and Morty, not AD

That first episode is a lot funnier if you know that Nelly (Justine Bateman) is Michael's sister in real life.

They were setting up GOB dating Egg since episode 4 of this season. All the subtle hints; brilliant.

I could not disagree more with your assessment of how it ended. Obviously they had to get there faster than anticipated, but THE ENTIRE SHOW George had been saying he was a patsy. They threw several excellent twists, but none of them were contrived: George being a patsy was *perfect* (and of course, the Saddam on trial - No Scar.com mirroring Oscar.com), all the foreplay leading you to believe George Michael and Maeby weren't related, then at the end of the penultimate episode you find out Maeby is actually Lindsay's daughter... but then it turns out Lindsay is adopted?? Goddamn brilliant. And of course, they had spent the last 9 episodes hinting about Egg being GOB's new girlfriend (everything he said about 3rd place was true - s03e04 - and all the "my new religious girlfriend" stuff)... and of course: Annyong being the final boss. All of that -> Lucille being the boss, the stolen banana stand idea, Annyong being the grandchild of the man they ripped off... I know it was *rushed*, but they did NOT pull it out of their ass. That was 100% the planned ending. Also, shit: Michael's "sister" Nellie, her pimp being Franklin, then the "Mr F" recall... god the writing in this show was brilliant. He thought his sister was Nellie, it turns out Nellie was his dad's prostitute (played by his real-life sister), and Lindsay was [supposed to be] Nellie, and that's how they had George Michael and Maeby be not related, Michael's "secret" sister Nellie was actually his (turns out, adopted) sister Lindsay... and I absolutely bought Lindsay trying to jump Michael's bones right away. First of all: she's a fucking MESS. She's married to Tobias, never forget her judgment is TERRIBLE. She wants what she can't have, she's insecure and Michael kept complimenting her and she took it the wrong way (because of course she did), and also: she's a MESS. So is GOB, so him hitting on her is well within believably behavior from GOB.

The version of season 4 of Arrested Development I'd recommend is season 1 of Veronica Mars. (Seriously... AD isn't the same. There's definitely some good stuff in there, but it's not the same.)

For all the call back joke lines they do, I was really expecting a few "No Touching"s at the Gob in prison scenes.

The twists may seem rushed, but they were definitely not "pulled out of their ass". You can actually see the set ups for them further back.

I don't have Netflix at the moment, so I'm sure if they have both versions available currently or not. But basically when season 4 was initially released, each of the episodes where more focused on an individual characters story line. A few years later they "remixed" it, basically putting the different storylines in the same episodes, cutting down the length of the episodes, which made there be a greater number of episodes, to try to be more in line with how the first 3 seasons were. That being said, either way is fine by me, or whatever is on Netflix is fine. Just if they have both versions, make sure to stick with one or the other.
