This show really made me sweat. I was holding my breath the entire time. I cannot believe this was only 8 episodes, when is it coming back????

Invincible REACTION | Episode 8

Will

The fandom has obviously taken strongly against Amber, but I'm inclined to give the character a bit of a break (at least so far). I know that we, as viewers, accept the idea of superheroes having secret identities, but it must be extremely annoying to be in a relationship with somebody and them trying to keep something as big as that from you. It was for 5 months, wasn't it? Also, she's only 17 or something like that, which I think kind of mitigates the genuinely unreasonable moments she had (like how she behaved when he vanished then reappeared as Invincible). Plus, we forgive all manner of crap from the heroes of these shows! And she's a fictional character. 😀

Eric

Nah. She knew he was a superhero but was a complete bitch about him keeping his secret identity secret, something that was COMPLETLEY REASONABLE. (Not only is it *his* secret, it's his dad's, and even somebody like Atom Eve may have her identity compromised.) They dated for, as you said, something like 5 months. I'll definitely allow that his "excuses" were *really* shitty; he could've talked about how controlling his dad was, how he couldn't get away because his dad needed him for whatever shit... that would not only be more reasonable, it's also largely true. But she's mad at him for keeping secrets? She could've been mature and said something too; she knew who he was, she easily could've told him, taken steps to build a stronger relationship, but instead she decided that building a stronger relationship was 100% his responsibility. And of course, the amount of shit she gave him for saving her life, and... Williams? and Rick's (momentarily, at least) at the college... that's some manipulative bullshit she pulled, and honestly? Maybe if she'd been honest with him and let him know she knew, he wouldn't have been so distraught about their relationship and would've listened to William when he (William) told him (Mark) that Rick was in trouble. Not to completely excuse Mark, of course, but Amber shares the blame for that because she was being needy, manipulative, and deceitful. She was playing games every bit as much as Mark was, but whereas Mark was doing it because he was trying to keep the people around him safe, she was doing it because she was testing him. Fuck that.
