Wrathful Wraith (Patreon)

One does not need a full soul to create an apparition or spirit. Sometimes strong emotion is enough to create a lingering entity, haunting the area where these emotions, desires, and regrets have gathered.

The Wraith is a being created once a single area has absorbed too many negative emotions. Malice, anger, rage, envy. Whether all these emotions came from a single person particularly strong of spirit or many individuals, these ghosts are "born" overtime.

They have no memory or link to those who birthed them. Indeed, they are never truly "sentient" beyond cursing the targets of the rage that brought them to this world or whoever intrudes upon their territory, driven entirely by instinct.

Yet, what happens when a spirit with no "self" absorbs enough energy, either through time or through their victims? Indeed, a Wraith may be able to obtain an identity for themselves if they survive long enough, and might even leave their original haunt to search for another purpose... or perhaps to truly get revenge on whatever gave them such powerful negativity in the first place.

Yes, no matter how pleasant a Sentient Wraith may outwardly try to be, they can never truly let go of the emotions that tie them to this world. To do so would be to deny their own existence, and would surely erase them completely.
