This is one of my favorite parts of Genesis First, don't imagine Abram and his crew just a few people bumbling about mesopotamia, but a nomadic warlord. Abram is such a bastard, yet, for some reason God loves to kick it with him. In the animal sacrifice blood ritual which has no parallel (temple sacrifices later were very different) in the bible God does one of the first acts that blends the human with the divine. Usually in this ritual both parties pass through and are then bound by their promises to eachother. God passes twice, effectively taking all of the responsibility of upholding the covenant. And then there is Sodom and Gomorrah. Abram is the ultimate jew as he haggles succesfully with God over genocide. If you ever have a judgemental Fundie ranting about butt sex and the Lord's judgement, ask him about pre judaic views on hospitality. The sin of Sodom isn't homosexuality or even rape but mistreating guests. You can find parallels in Greek, Roman, Sumerian, and Egyptian law. As for Lot...I got nothing

On Win10 and using Chrome. After the "share" link there is a link entitled: The_Bible_Part_Three.mp3 Right click that, select "Save link as" and then select "save" and you should download the mp3, once done you can play it like any other mp3, I use VLC

What happened to the weekly Bible readings? Do you have to be a higher donor?
