Moroni has a lot of bearing in the so called Church ⛪️ he is one of the angels that came to Joseph Smith multiple times to bring messages from God to him. That’s why it makes sense that Chad and Lori would have heard from Moroni & why other people may have been buying into their ruse. Just FYI.

Also the reason that Lori went to the fire sides for Preparing a People is because it was a lot of normal Mormons speaking about how they could prepare for the end of days and have a sense of community. The people in PaP weren’t making a ton of money off of this, it’s just something they could do to relate to each other. It’s kind of like comic con but for Jesus lol. Lori and Chad became close because she claimed to have similar experiences as him and they were friends, she wasn’t really a groupie. She just happened to be going to those same conferences as Chad. They’d become good friends and they had mutual friends like Julie Rowe and Christopher Parrett that were and are in AVOW which is a group of people similar to PaP. That’s why Chad stayed at Lori’s. Not cause she was a “groupie” but because they were friends. It’s actually really common for people in the Mormon religion to go to these conferences, make friends, and become very close like this. Chad certainly doesn’t have a ton of money, but he was fairly middle class and could have stayed somewhere, but enjoyed being around Lori. With the amount of money Chad had, the house and property that he has as well is very typical for Idaho as well. Especially for a nerdy ass mormon like him. He has a personality that doesn’t want to attract too much attention by the physical things that he had. Also, the attraction of Chad is that he is a soft spoken priesthood leader who is very righteous. He looks like any normal Mormon dude, that’s the attraction for sure. The Church found out about the beliefs of Chad through a concerned member of the church that wrote a letter to their bishop. The letter basically said that weird things were going on and that the church needs to take action because people were being converted to the fringe religion through the guise of people like Chad Daybell and Julie Rowe and Christopher Parrett. All of the Mormons I know right now are super upset because the mainstream media talked about how their beliefs are based off of Mormonism, which is true. So the Mormons here only want to talk about how horrible it is that they broke off of the true parts of the religion and killed the children instead of how their beliefs have enabled these people to use the Book of Mormon to manipulate beliefs and people.

Great points, Mikaela and thank you for the insight. I grew up 30 minutes east of Salt Lake City in a town called Park City and did not have many LDS neighbors/classmates. Therefore, my knowledge about the direct religion is somewhat limited on the actual prophets/angels like Moroni! According to a source close to Lori, she was becoming a big fan of Chad’s books dating back to 2015 and became invested in his work. Some are implying that she was looking for ways to meet Chad due to her being a fan- thus the groupie comment. :)

Ben I love you. Please try to stop interrupting your guest. You ask great questions they start to answer and then you jump in to ask another.
