Some printed pieces from Sato and plans for next project (Patreon)

Happy Wednesday/Thursday!


Just a small update on the Sato Heavy Industries, which will be launching in a week or so ahead of what I originally planned to. Here are the printed and painted stairs, the ladle rail, the ladle and the crane from the set. As usual wait until July, you will get some exclusive pieces for the set!


Now that Sato is pretty much all set, I have started thinking about what to do next. So far I am thinking about either a prison or some type of refinery / factory. Would love to hear from you if you can think of anything else too!

There are plenty of 40k style refineries out there, so if you do go for a refinery can you go for more numerous thinner pipes, within printing limits obviously. If you go for a factory then how about a robotic assembly line with a conveyor belt and robotic vehicles delivering parts around the building. How about a modern mine, with no more bloody dwarfs in sight! Conveyor belt would be useful for this, along with a modern rock-ripper feeding it and hydraulic roof supports. For the prison idea don't forget the ubiquitous prison showers (!) and a prisoner van, relatively simple mod to take away a few windows and add grills and water cannon, gas grenade dischargers, dozer blade, firing ports maybe to create a riot-control vehicle for your police force. A follow up project could be ambulance and fire engines for a fully fledged emergency Dept. Then a modular hospital and fire stations. OK, I've got too many ideas, I've started a White-board for myself so I'll shut up.

Thanks for such detailed suggestion :) And for the refinery it won't be 40k style since like you said so many out there. So more scifi-ish style, still trying to see if I can relate back to Neo Osaka / Ishikawa so still cyberpunk-ish and not full scifi. But we will see. I don't think going all scifi would cause any harm? Right now I'm more leaning towards prison, sort of like the one from Guardians from the Galaxy type of scifi prison obviously with the prison showers and some soap on the floor!

If you do the prison, could you do themed pieces that let us switch up the theming between, say, more industrial, neo or techno sci-fi, something else? Maybe a couple of different scatter pieces, cell doors, guard tower fixtures, lights, etc. Just thinking out loud :)
