Hey everyone!

The April Pure Onyx test release is ready ^-^!

** Links updated with patched release as of May 9!

We've added the retargeted + improved version of the Onyx w/ Thug H scene, which will now work with the new rigs and thus support Onyx's 2nd outfit, LOD model, bare feet, and H liquid.  It also has improved physics.

There are also a number of combat FX and animation improvements, new SFX, and a handful of fixes as well.

We had some last minute issues, and thus will be patching in the tier 2 gear H models (pulled up shirt / pulled down shorts) once we're sure they are working properly in a few days.

Apologies if it's a bit underwhelming this month :(. We only had 3 weeks since the patch for the March update was on the 7th, and I am just a couple days shy of getting a new map in. I will try to patch in the Slums map in a couple days along with the tier 2 H models and anything else that blows up ^-^;;.

Changelog

(The following is only a list of player-facing changes, unless otherwise noted):

  • Added Onyx w/ Thug retargeted H scene + improvements (New outfits / LOD model for performance / feet / H liquid will now work on this scene)
  • Added SFX for BunnyBlade w/ BunnyBat standing pole H scene
  • Added hit stops, camera shakes, and actor shake FX to combat
  • Improved walk/run animations for more enemies with foot tracking.
  • Improved look of knockdowns. They now transition smoothly / no longer pop the character up in an ugly way.
  • Fixed instances of enemies becoming stuck in DefendHit animation
  • Fixed instances of Larva walking backwards
  • Added backend framework for events based on the result of attacks (hit, blocked, knockedown, etc).  In the future can be used for parries/counterattacks/and more.
  • Leaping Larva will now bounce off Onyx if she blocks them.
  • Added ambient Spider Cavern SFX
  • Added SFX for Male Cop
  • Added new SFX for Charger's rock fall ability
  • Dynamic physics improvements on Onyx to fix clipping + improve motion
  • Fixed initial animation on actors being delayed at spawn (actors no longer spawn in T pose)

Known Issues

Here are the newest/most relevant known issues.

  • Top edge of background art is visible during large camera shakes on Slums Street.
  • Characters don't appear behind car windows in Slums Street map.
  • Thug's pants incorrectly stay undone in subsequent H scenes after the Onyx vs Thug scene plays.
  • Enemies can't defend while winding up to attack.
  • Ugly environment collision interactions possible on the Spider Caverns map
  • Wraxe will still perform his shorts pull animation during H scene even if Onyx has no shorts on.
  • Some visual glitches involving the new traps.
  • Barrels are apparently still able to spawn inside each other.
  • Player character downed animation post H scene is currently not playing in Gallery, nor are secondary idle animations.
  • Sounds are improperly playing during loading currently.
  • Destructible objects don't receive environment lighting or cast reflections yet.
  • Vioreapers are extra buzzy at the moment (even while knocked down).
  • It's possible to make Onyx invisible through some combination of opening console / enabling God Mode while Onyx is flashing due to respawning
  • Blocky shading artifacts appear on both FemCop and Onyx if they are covered in liquid while lit by FemCop's forcefield.  This is due to a shader conflict with the newly optimized liquid and the lighting technique used for the forcefield.  We're working on a fix ^-^.
  • Larva/Crawlers (and Vioreapers too) currently use humanoid bystander behaviors.
  • Crawlers' spit attack has a splash AoE where the projectile lands, but FX graphics aren't in for it yet, so it can appear as if Onyx is hit by nothing if she's standing nearby a landing spitball.
  • FemCop's force field doesn't emit light properly when the scene is mirrored.
  • It's possible for FemCop's forcefield to spawn on top of bystander enemies.
  • At minimum zoom, you can see the incoming/outgoing Ball Drone used in the Runt's section of the Chain Splicer H scene before it's meant to appear.
  • Some of Wraxe's combat FX need to be updated to work with new animations.  Some may display as being rotated improperly or slightly out of position.
  • Charger's hitbox shifts slightly after he charges.  If he charges repeatedly this shift can add up to be significant.  It will soon correct itself however.
  • Liquid won't show on Onyx during the Thug's solo H scene.  This will be fixed soon.
  • The liquid spurt FX on one of the Thug's H scene finishers sometimes doesn't play.  We're aware of the cause and seeing if it pops up anywhere else before fixing it.
  • Infinite jabs are way overpowered against bosses right now.  Jab spam will be changed to a standing combo soon-ish (among other combat improvements).
  • Street Lord Wraxe sometimes blocks the view of H scenes with his big fat wraxe when he's a bystander.

Console Commands

The game isn't balanced that great yet, so some people have asked if there are ways to bypass bosses or get some help.  You can use console commands for this while the game is still rough around the edges. Press the  ` (backtick/tilde) key to open the console.  Type any of the commands below and press enter.  Press ` again to close the console.

  • godmode on/off - Makes Onyx indestructible and impervious to Exhaustion.
  • onepunchmode on/off - Gives Onyx the ability to kill anything with one attack.
  • setwave # - Sets the enemy wave to the number specified.  Changes will not be reflected in enemies until the current wave is wiped out.  If you want to fight Street Lord Wraxe, who spawns on Wave 20, then set the wave to 19 and wipe out the remaining enemies.
  • setgamespeed # - Multiplies the game speed by the number specified.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Currently only Windows 7/8/10 are supported. We plan on adding additional platforms if there is a demand. 8 GB of RAM and at least a 2GB graphics card are heavily recommended. If you get poor performance please let us know and post your system specs (or send to eromancergames@gmail.com ); we’re still in the early stages of gauging system requirements.

Currently Supported Controllers: Xbox 360, Xbox One, Dual Shock 4.  PS5 DualSense

**Note** The popular community made DS4 Windows drivers cause Unity to recognize a DualShock controller as an Xbox gamepad, and we can't tell them apart in code. This means that you'll be gifted with the untold joy of having your controller mapped by default with the wrong controls. You can fix it by rebinding the PS4 controller map, or removing the DS4 Windows drivers. (The latter is HARD, a simple uninstall isn't going to be enough)

The sexual content still feels very superficial, it's better than what it was, particularly with the Vioreaper. While nicely animated, it's lacking elements that would give the sex more depth and without any context, emotion or even consequences it's lacking that certain "spark" that will really make the porn aspects pop-off. These things are more important than most people realize, it's not a matter of overthinking the aspects of porn game, it's about going that extra mile in making the best damn porn game you possibly can! Probably would be best to add a "GAMEOVER" scene for each enemy that displays a sense of finality to justify it being a "GAME OVER" situation. For example: a breeding slave for the Vioreaper in some nest or something, a sex slave to the splicer thugs in a dungeon somewhere, brainwashed into becoming a loyal and obedient Femcop herself. etc. Stuff like that! Explore the concept more!

Game over scenes are definitely a staple in the genre, but they are unfortunately not allowed on Patreon. It was actually in the TOS/community guidelines at one point, which is why we haven't gone that route.

Maybe you could try further transitioning over to Subscribestar, make a Patreon build and a Subscribestar build. You wouldn't be alone if you went that route, more and more creator's are actually abandoning Patreon completely because of their continuous content policing. If that's not a viable option then possibly involve Discord more with build distribution and details... I'm basically saying that it would be best to decrease Patreon's involvement as much as possible in favour of literally anywhere else. Just tell Patreon to go fuck themselves!

Makes sense, but could a work around be that instead of it showing a "bad end" per say, just a showing of a h-scene that you lost to? Therefore it wouldnt be like "and so on she was a sex slave" or something but just more of the same

I am less likely to believe that "labeling" the context, or stretching the guidelines, will lead to success, not to mention that it would justify the extra effort of rhetoric. Limiting creativity has usually led to unpalatable compromises. The S-Star solution is a sensible and good step, and I believe it will be taken. Sooner or later. I will stay tuned and when the time comes, I will be part of it.

Hi, fresh new member here so sorry I if ask some dumb questions. First thing, is the latest test patch the same on patreon as subscribestar? The two are the same version with the same amount of content? Secondly, after played a decent bit and getting to lvl 10, I find the "voidlings" (the ones that shoot stingers) to be very annoying/hard to dodge when they use their H skill. It can also hit you when they are off your screen. I'd suggest that their projectile be glowing blue if it's the H projectile, so at least you'll see it. Also will this game ever get belly inflation and lactation animations? Thanks~

Currently it is still the same content | Patreon = SubscribeStar. But in the foreseeable future this will change. The H-projectiles used by the Vioreapers are announced like any other H-attack with a sound and a glow of the executing character. My thesis is: If you don't react as soon as you recognize the sound or the glow, it makes no difference if the super-fast projectile glows or not. It's hard to dodge, but that doesn't make it easier. However - to take this idea further - the question would be: "Is it possible to adjust the hitbox so that when you slide on the ground (like in the attack for the small larvae) you don't get hit by projectiles or punches above?" At least that's what I noticed with the Bunny Girl. When it whirls around with the katanas you get hit in any case, no matter if you run into it or slide into it.

It's not about "stretching the guidelines" it's separating as much as possible from who is setting those guidelines. This game will succeed on some level... it's just how much will it succeed compared to other games that weren't being held back like this is. There're porn-games out there that are just static CG's with no animation at all, but what makes them so hot is the imagination, the context, the emotion and the consequences. Monstergirl Quest/Monstergirl Paradox by Toro Toro Resistance is a great example or Overgrown by The Dystopian Project is an even better example since that's got a female protagonist. I'll put this way: there's good stuff to satisfy the eyes but nothing to satisfy the imagination, the eyes are awake but the mind is asleep, there's nothing to bring the player into sexual elements of the game... Even though the sexual element needs to be the games main selling point.

Hey! They unlock when you pick up the disks that drop randomly from enemies. They have the same green container graphic right now as consumables, so it's easy to miss them. Sorry for the confusion. It's a placeholder unlock system.

In the case of "comics" and other little or non-animated content, it is actually possible to stimulate the imagination, because you inevitably have to think your way into the scene and embellish it yourself in your thoughts. And everyone does this subjectively differently. Judging the alpha state based on the animated mechanics and placeholders without a story that leads to ideas and mind games is biased. Also, the comparison of CG games weakly animated with RPGMaker/RenPy/Phyton with an animated unity-game is a miscomparison. Perhaps I interpret this "prejudgement" too harshly, but I read it as a biased criticism and not as a goal-oriented and constructive one. The "action" in the examples mentioned is also different from that of PureOnyx. Close to the examples mentioned are the early/first versions of MatM, but even there it is not a comic but animated.

I'm about to turn 40, so I've been playing sidescroll fighting games for a long time. In my opinion, this game has potential, and I can see it having even greater potential in the future! I can't wait to see what the finished version will be like. Keep up the good work!

I'm using porn-games that consist of entirely still images like Monstergirl quest/paradox as an example of how still images with descriptive writing can be more effective than a porn-game with amazing animations but no descriptive writing. I don't know what's in the plan to be added, but right now the team haven't made plans to add any "GAME OVER" screens because of Patreon apparently. I'm just trying to make a case for them to add game over screens for builds that aren't Patreon because the sexual content severely lacking any depth beyond "rape is happening".

Okay. I understand that. The process of not destroying the project and still continuing to work on it effectively, even if they don't release everything, will continue until they get close enough to the targeted goal on SS that the change can be made without hesitation. Safety over actionism is the thought, I think. We don't know what else is in storage "behind the scenes" just waiting to be released. But I understand your thoughts.

The best level to unlock new scenes relatively quickly is "Test Mission", at least in my experience.
