Hey guys!

I've added V0.051 of MATM to the $3 reward page! Saves from V0.05 should be compatible with this version.

Here is a brief list of what this update adds:

 • All remaining artwork for Neon's new armor (that was missing in V0.05).
 • A bunch of minor bug fixes.
 • All internal/performance improvements made by AltairPL since V0.05 was released.

Yeah, the last two are really vague, but I'll be sure to go into them in detail when I make the major monthly progress report post in early November :D.

If you recall (and were around at the time), I promised this update shortly before V0.05 was released since I knew we wouldn't have all of the artwork for Neon's new outfit in. We've been working *really* hard the past few days to get this ready before the end of the month as promised, and as usual it's been down to the wire. I apologize for cutting it so close!

The really good news is that the optimizations I made during the first part of this month (the Inner Circle guys have been hearing about it a lot, and i'll go over it in the progress report post in a few days) made it possible to do the entirety of the artwork for this update in just over a week, which would have been completely impossible before.

I'm completely spent right now, so please leave any questions/comments and I'll get back to them as soon as I can!

- Eromancer

EDIT: Here is the link to a hotfix which fixes an artwork image that incorrectly still displays as 'under construction'. Please note this hotfix should be applied to the 0.051 version mentioned above, and not 0.05. Simply add the '.edf' file to the 'Patch' folder (you need to start the game for it to create this folder).

Brilliant work with the character portrait appearing on the hex during battle! That was basically the only thing about this entire project that I was concerned about! But I um. I caught another "ARTWORK UNDER CONSTRUCTION" on Neon's blue aoe-blasting outfit in the aftermath of a leech pulling out of her pussy.

AltairPL

Thanks for the report - this particular GFX was present and bugged in 0.05. Anyway, fixed internally, and if there's no more bugs to fix in a few hours, hotfix for this one will be released.

Here's the hotfix file for anyone who has already downloaded it. I'll upload a new version with the fix incorporated in a little while. EDIT: Patreon's comments are apparently incapable of properly displaying a clickable link... nice. I'll add the link to the post itself!

Are you going to add an updated art PDF with the new art?

Hello, I placed the file into the 'patch folder' however a window keeps popping up stating something about a "Core line 237 No method error occured. Undefined nil:nilclass." If I remove the patch the game loads fine. Is there something I am missing?

AltairPL

It would seem you're trying to apply the hotfix to 0.05 version. Hotfix was designed for 0.051 version, so you need to download it first (follow "$3 reward page" link in the post).

Well I feel pretty silly. Thank you and Happy Halloween!

i have a question do you have a link to a rar or zip file that contains jpg still of the characters?

AltairPL

It's good to know that it's crashing 0.05, so don't worry about it ;). Happy Halloween to you too!

AltairPL

Sorry, missed your comment... pdf will be updated, but only Eromancer can tell when.

AltairPL

Sorry, but the only way to view the art outside of the game is the Artwork PDF, which is a $5 tier reward. There will be a gallery in the game at some point, but it's hard to say when.

I know this may seem redundant as this is a 0.051 pre-hotfix error but it happened as I was using a first aid or stim pack. and the character trying to use it dies just as you select and use said item. error log ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Exception NoMethodError occurred! Well, I don't remember anyone reporting it earlier so it's not redundant... not at all... thanks.

Hi, really want to try it out and support but having weird technical difficulties. Whenever I try to start the game it seems to keep using "up" or "left" arrow directionals despite me not even pressing any keys. What does this run on? Maybe I need to reinstall the framework? keyboard/mouse drivers are up to date.

AltairPL

IIRC, there was only one report related to keyboard, and I'm pretty sure that keyboard driver/software was responsible, but the person who reported it didn't go into specifics on what exactly was wrong - I think he was using Razer keyboard. That said, you can try few steps to troubleshoot the problem: 1. if you have controller connected, make sure that it's axes are in neutral position and properly calibrated; 2. if this controller is a wheel or above didn't work, you may want to disconnect it before running MATM; 3. while in game, try pressing "stuck" keys few times (in this case, that means NumPad keys as well - with and without NumLock); 4. see if the same occurs on other RPG Maker VX Ace games... if you don't have any, you can download free sample game from: http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/sample-games .

Are you still looking to amend the storyline? I thought it would be good if you could add a timed event (if its at all possible with RPG Maker) at the scene where Neon rescues Malise from the cryocell. There was something about armed guards swarming the place - thought maybe there could be an event where if the player failed to make it to the lift by X seconds, they would be able to encounter said armed guards in battle and... you know how to take it from there... Lol Just an idea. :)

Perhaps I misunderstood something, but I'm still not seeing any new artwork, even after downloading 5.1 and inserting the hotfix file.

eromancer

Sorry for the delay! Do you mean you're still seeing the "artwork under construction" images in place of artwork? There shouldn't be any of these left in 0.0511, so if you can provide some more details we'd appreciate it :D

Anonymous

It's exactly as you said. I see the "under construction" placeholder still.

Nevermind, everything is fine. I deleted, re-downloaded and inserted the patch again and then restarted my computer. For some reason it hadn't worked the first time.
