V0.05 Links Sent Out! (Patreon)
Content
Links have been sent out for V0.05! If you sent your pledge to me in some way other than Patreon then please give me a little while to get your link to you (I have to do it manually).
Apologies for any delays in getting back to people, but if you've sent me a message or email in the last 24-36 hours please give me a day or so to respond!
Here are just a few important reminders / warnings about this release since I
know people will ask about them :D
- Saves from V0.04 are not compatible due to the extensive map engine overhaul. We have however included a save file with the game that will start you off after the Fleshfather battle!
- Artwork PDF rewards will be sent separately and should be sent out within the next week.
- Fleshpod and Vioreaper H artwork for Neon’s new armor will likely be finished for the addendum release next month.
- Animations for doors in the new areas aren’t in place yet.
- Since Neon’s new armor type likely won’t be available this early in the final game, there’s at least one story scene where she’ll appear in her original armor even if wearing the new one.
Now, for some additional changes that have made it in since the previous change log for V0.05 was posted (which you can see here):
- Improved the loot screen UI
- Improved the layout of the Save/Load screen
- Added mechanics for learning skills from devices called ‘Glyphs’.
- Malise now starts with full HP/SP
- Fixed a continuity error. Neon will now have high lust/broken armor
after the Fleshfather scene.
As always, thank you very much for your support! We couldn't do this without you!
- Eromancer
System Requirements
If you haven't played the previous releases of MATM, then PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING!
Malise and the Machine utilizes the RPG Maker VX Ace engine. To play, you must install the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP (run time package), which you can download and install for free from http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages (click the blue button at the bottom of the page to download).
It's highly recommended that the first time you start the game you make a critical adjustment to the RPG Maker VX Ace settings to vastly improve performance of the game. To do this, press F1 after launching the game, then in the window that appears uncheck 'Reduce Screen Flickering', and then select OK.
Additional tips for improving performance if you find the game runs slow for you:
· Play in windowed mode! RPG Maker's full screen mode is very inefficient, and we plan on eventually writing an improved version.
· Well, the above is about it for this release. We had ways to toggle off some effects that can affect performance, however we've removed them so that they can be consolidated into a universal 'Performance Mode' which will be available in future versions.
Here are the recommended hardware specs for the game:
- Intel Core2Duo @ 2.4GHz
- 4 GB RAM
- 512 MB Video RAM
