This show is funny ! It's interesting that they pronounce a-e-i-o-u the same way it's pronounced in portuguese and spanish

Gayo (가요) doesn't mean k-pop, it's another word for a song! Normally norae (노래) is used for song, but gayo can mean song as well - bangtan gayo are all music related missions so I suppose they thought it fit lol

DT you have got to react to (Jimin fancams that make me fall in luv) by "everythingslow" on your Jimin Channel. It is one of the best ones yet and has footage I've never seen! The fancams are close ups too!💜💜

I feel that Gayo and Rookie King series were like the testing for the future Run! BTS saga we have now, hope DT you can find a better resolution for the videos...you are missing really awesome content :( thanks for the reaction!

I absolutely love Gayo! Gayo and Run released around the same time, and I always look forward to Gayo because I get to learn more about KPOP as well. Unfortunately they cancelled Gayo because both concepts are too similar and Run was able to diversify the contents. Looking forward to Track 4 - my favourite one!

GAYO is great bc as well as some pretty funny moments, they'll touch on a bit of history and genre terminology important to the actual musical evolution of Korean Pop, as well as the contemporary scene and famous songs they grew up in the context of. For example, one of the tracks focuses on old 'Trot style' pop music (and performance aesthetic! 😂) - although they expect many people watching to already KNOW the context of some of these genres and references, it gives good pointers for things to look up further if you're interested! e.g., If you ever watch behind the scenes where V is blasting old trot songs, or interviews where Suga says he wants to write Trot songs in the future, or watch other K-Pop groups or Korean musicians do a pastiche performance in the style, you'll be able to recognise what they're on about in the same way you can listen to the recent retro trends in western pop music and say - oh yeah! that's disco! that's 90s! I think Patrons here from Korea or with a better knowledge of the music history could flesh it out much better for you than me too. ☺️ I think people often don't look far into the local music history with foreign pop and particularly K-Pop considering the number of listeners, but for those who are interested, learning that extra context makes it much easier to grasp what's going on musically rather than just thinking it sounds 'cool' or 'old' or 'traditional' - references and decisions and meanings you pick unconsciously with music you grew up with, that can make you appreciate the composition and production as well as just the lyrics! This became a bit long - but I think it's well worth it for interested people who haven't come across these things, especially as BTS themselves are becoming more and more heavily involved in their own music production and you can hear they are honestly starting to mature a lot more musically in their own right (as J-Hope actively mentioned in his Blue-Side note. I was so happy to see him say it was a conscious goal of his when you can so easily hear it with Blue-Side, BE, and other recent works!). This is off-topic by now, but I've wanted to express how it seems their enforced break from touring performances has really stretched and encouraged them musically by cutting off other commitments - their technical vocal performance seemed to sky-rocket last year with practice (though they all already had wonderful natural voices they'd honed over their career between commitments, the sheer CONTROL and accuracy and use of techniques in the lives last year was another level!) - and individual experiments with the music itself make me excited to see how much further they mature in their music!
