i think they went back to seoul to film "Dear Class of 2020" since this was filmed in late may/early june

Juli

its part of the culture. most of the time they dont close their mouths while eating. so youll hear that food smacking sound alot.

Jeanene

One of the books Suga reads is Almond by Won Pyung Sohn. It is a fantastic book! I highly recommend it. Here's an overview: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/52219386-almond OT - You wake up at 7:30am?! I cannot wake up before 10am. 7:30am might as well be the dead of night!

This episode just once again reminded me how hilarious Jin is

Christina

Jin getting left is payback for leaving Jhope in Bon Voyage season 4

Anonymous

It’s not a cultural thing, it’s the mic. You are bound to hear every lil sound they make in those things.

V was shocked to see the fish head (after Jin killed it). Coming from Hawaii, fish head is a delicacy here, especially the eyes, so fresh caught fish (or closest to fresh as possible) is great! It all depends on how its cooked - steamed, grilled, fried. Jin is preparing it poke (or sashimi) style with gochujang. Locals in Hawaii usually eat it Japanese style with soy sauce or straight, no sauce, wasabi optional. I know a lot of people refuse to eat fish with the head still on it - creeps them out.

Hi DT. I stumbled upon this yt video of RM in a variety show. Its old but very interesting. You might want to know how smart RM really is. There's a lot more of this show if you follow it. It gets more interesting when the game comes to Maths. I hope you'll find time to watch it. Thank you. https://youtu.be/t-KPHLBcifc

DT to you recognize Jimin's shirt in this episode? It was the same shirt he used in the Dynamite dance practice

- nurungji - pronounced "noo roong gee" - traditionally, when making a pot of rice, you'd scoop out the soft rice to serve for the meal, but the rice on the outside edges against the pot would end up charred and crispy - once dried out and cooled, the leftover crunchy rice was taken out, tossed with sugar, and eaten as a crispy snack - it's become so popular, that people intentionally make nurungji to snack on - sometimes, it's only lightly crisped (like Tae is doing), still soft and chewy on the inside, to provide a contrast in texture - prosciutto - it's a very expensive Italian ham - sold in paper thin slices, it does pair very well with melons - very salty, with a funky flavor that is reminiscent of a good cheese, and has a nutty flavor due to the pigs being allowed to feast on chestnuts in the last months of their lives - mulhoe - pronounced "mool hweh" - literally translates to "water fish" - it's a raw fish dish with noodles and a spicy liquid brine-like sauce/"soup", topped with fresh julienned veggies and mixed together - neoguri - pronounced "noh goo ree" - means "raccoon", which is the mascot of that brand of ramen - known as being especially spicy, which is why it's used to mix with other ramens (like jjappagetti - jjappagetti + neoguri = jjapaguri) to calm down the spice - "angry" neoguri does mean it's the spicy version - Jimin LOVES spicy food and usually opts for it when he can, while Tae can't handle spicy food well at all (another example of how the soul mates are polar opposites, which just makes them even more charming as a duo) - hotteok - pronounced "hoe duk" - fried pancake type pastry filled with nuts and sugar and seeds - it's crispy and flakey on the outside, hot and chewy on the inside, and it's usually served in the winter at street stands, folded into paper cups (to protect your hands and clothes from the liquid insides gushing out) - they are also known for burning the hell out of your mouth due to the molten sugar, so beware when eating

I think RM left early because of his leg...as you said that he is limping.he probably went to have it checked.

So funny to hear your mispronunciation but good thing you tried 👍🏻. And I can see you often get confused and forgotten what the boys were doing maybe because you didnt catched the subs well. Ohh btw for your extra info DT, makgeolli that they have for previous dinner kind of korean homemade wine (maybe thats the reason why they got hangover). Jimin woke up late because he played games all morning + caught cold 😅

Anonymous

I’ve watched this episode before, but now it made more sense rewatching it... that the dirty dishes that V found in the morning were from Jin & Jimin’s late snacking... that explains. 😂lol

DT you said you might do some cooking, if you're interested, korean food is incredibly tasty! Here are my favourite sites for korean recipes (I'm not korean, so if anyone has any better ones I'd love to know!): https://mykoreankitchen.com/ https://www.koreanbapsang.com/ This dish is a particular favourite of mine when I just want to make something quick and easy: https://www.koreanbapsang.com/dak-kale-bokkeum-stir-fried-chicken-and/#wprm-recipe-container-9810

"eating with hands like animals" did I hear this right?

In Korean culture, making slurping noises whilst eating noodles or drinking soup for example, are considered a sign that you are enjoying the meal and that the food is delicious. This is a cultural difference to Western culture for example. However I wouldn't say it's necessarily a cultural thing to eat with your mouth open, some people do it, some people don't. Historically, it's not part of the table etiquette especially for noblemen etc. and we wouldn't in a formal setting etc. but lots of people do eat loudly in a casual setting and maybe it's not as big of a deal as it is in western culture. Also, the mic will definitely emphasise the noise too. EDIT: I'm just gonna add that I'm cautious to posit an action as simply a "cultural" thing, because people vary so much, and even in korea there is a WIDE variance in culture. For e.g. your education, your values, the generation, the situation, where you live etc. will affect whether you eat loudly or not. Also note that there is an amalgamation of traditional Korean and foreign cultures within Korea, just like any other globally open countries. I think this goes for any culture that is foreign to yours. Differences may not only be attributed to cultural aspects, but rather personal. Also, 쩝쩝거리다 is a phrase that specifically describes making a smacking noise with your mouth. To say "oh that is a cultural thing", people might be mistaken that every Korean eats like this, whereas Koreans are categorising it into "eating whilst making noise" because that's not the "norm". xx

It's common to eat fish head and cook fish whole in korea too:) But maybe since V isn't used to cooking and handling fresh fish it might be a little bit of a shock haha poor guy

Good to see you're catching some "odd" things about the show D.T. As much as I love seeing the boys relaxing, doing nothing or just eating, gaming...the editing and scripting for this is a little strange. BTS are used to staying up all night, they sometimes have schedules at 3 a.m. So it makes sense for them to go to bed super late and to sleep until noon. Then they spend a considerable amount of time cooking wich leaves a short period of time for activites until they start cooking again. Some people don't like me saying this but some of the activities they do might(emphasis on might) be just for the sake of a good shot. They sometimes sound worried about coming up with something to do 'cause they want the show to be entertaining for the viewers . I also wouldn't trust the events are shown in the exact same order they happened. They maybe edit it to make us get a sense of a timeline since it all happens at one place (different from bon voayge where there's a variety of locations). RM said it's still work and I feel the boys are more aware of these cameras than they are on BON Voyage for example. The amount of times you can catch them checking the cameras if you pay attention...lol

I've also been looking for websites with good korean recipes! Thank you for sharing :)

many eat with their hands in the middle east, it's another way of eating, nothing animalistic about it animals use their mouths directly XD as for the shoes, they shared the photos on twitter

Anonymous

we eat a lot of ham and melon mixed together as starters in France

msathenas

yes jin is incredibly timid and shy. he just likes to make people laugh and be comfortable around him but he is very introverted

CJ

I’m South Asian and we eat with hands/fingers. That’s such an insensitive and a xenophobic thing to say, especially when South Asians are often looked down upon for eating with hands and not cutlery. Please educate yourself. I can no longer support your channel.

no video today ??

Right. And a huge part of African countries eat with hands too.

I've never thought of it until someone mentioned, but DT you're beginning to appear a tad bit odd to me. It started to strike me that you're earning a certain amount every month from this community but you're not purchasing the contents you're reacting to. If you changed your source this week I would've understood you, thinking that it's easy to overlook and forget that you can purchase Bon Voyage with all the free sources roaming around. But you didn't change and continued doing it your way without giving us a reason. Meaning you completely ignored the comments of your last video. That's sus. You're earning over $11,000 a month just from your Patreon and it's all coming from your viewers. You really should buy the series you're reacting to, there's no reason for you to watch the free versions of it.

Many times people tend to believe that have the right to tell other how to run their financial business, when they don't. many people support reactors because we enjoy the content they provide and the perspective they bring. I don't think we have the right to determine how people spend their money. As a consumer we support what we like, when we don't like something we leave stop the support. I enjoy DT as a reactor, I love BTS! I don't equate DT love and respect for BTS with how much Bts product he purchases. Fandom support can be shown in many ways. And for all we know he could be sending a donation on their behalf to a charity every month. who is to say that because he used a free link that he is wrong GOOD GOD!

Anonymous

You see how you wrote out an entire lecture about coz it’s your opinion and u expressed it? That’s exactly what everyone else is doing, expressing an opinion. No need to be so holier than thou and peachy about it. GOOD GOD

Anonymous

There is a way and and a time to express ones opinion. If I had a major grievance I would send a private message.

Lollypop

It is very interesting how one comment is preachy, and the judgemental comment is ok. it all about perspective. It is also very interesting how folks can dissaproved yet instead of leaving and finding satisfaction elsewhere they hang around and tear down the work of others and bring hate. and this is Still a free country so far. comments in open forum warrant response or they would be private comments. Sorry if anyone was offended. Keep up the good work DT a free link would be acceptable if you were in your first week of reactions and could not afford it your true followers would waste no time making sure you had what you needed to react. I am sure the free link is still ok now . even tho your accountant has decided you can afford it.

Anonymous

You know this is the internet right? The internet has no country lol. and yes I am hanging around coz I have paid for a service and i will consume that service and leave my feedback. My issue same as some others here is that these free links are provided by army’s using their own resources for other army’s who can’t afford them so everyone can enjoy bts. Qdeoks has never once asked for anything in return for her generosity in providing these contents for free however reactors using her work without giving her any credit or any money and still making money from her work and not even supporting bts monetarily when they clearly can is just plain selfish, it’s mind boggling to me that y’all don’t find this odd.

Queensthief

I didn't know how much I needed BTS and Park Hyo Shin together until V (and Jhope) sang "Wildflower".

Anonymous

I’m ignorant about Qdeoks.. So you should have taken this up with DT personally if you feel strongly about him using this video without acknowledging the source. I pay for this service as well and don’t appreciate you making me involved with your issue. What is it that you expect me to do with this info? Cancel my membership.

I kept a journal once, for the entirety of my senior year. Honestly, wish I kept at it, but I guess if I were to have picked any year to have kept a journal for my senior year is a pretty good one.

Cant stop watching, making a miserable rainy day bareable. Thanks for posting, new to Patreon
