V's song "Inner child" was inspired by their experience seeing the galaxy at the observatory on episode 3 of this season. On vlive, RM explained how V and RM wrote the lyrics together, and how seeing the milky way with his own eyes was a big shock to V. Fyi, In later episodes, you'll actually see RM quietly writing lyrics for MOTS:7 in the background while everyone else is doing activities. The New Zealand trip must have actually been a little stressful for RM since they were preparing the next album.

They were writing MOTS:7 in this trip. Jin said in the airplane about Moon, in next episode will be Time (Jungkook's) and also Inner Child.

Thanks for the info! I'm always curious to know about where the song inspirations come from & how often the members write songs according to album release timelines. They put out so much music every year that I'm sure there's always pressure to write, especially for RM & Suga because they have historically been the main producers within the group. Joonie looks stressed, grumpy, tired, & preoccupied a lot during the trip so far. I feel for him because he takes his work so seriously as the leader of the group, that he can't relax if there are things that need to get done. He needs a night of stiff drinking to help him relax and enjoy his time with the boys more. If I remember correctly, that happens during one of their nights camping under the stars. I can't wait!

Exactly! I didn't think they could top BV4, but In The Soop has such a special charm because the guys don't have to go anywhere, and can choose what they want to do each day with minimal crew around. It's almost like a real vacation for them instead if filming another TV show for ARMY.

One of the songs that was inspired during this trip was Moon, solo by Jin, who thought of the concept while riding on the airplane alone in the beginning. Also, My Time, JK's solo which was what RM was stressing over in the upcoming episode.. I think one of the things RM has always had a problem with is detaching himself when it comes to doing Bon Voyage which to him is still work even though they are on vacation. He said so himself during In The Soop, when you watch it, he finds it tough to relax cos he associates doing all these 'vacationing' as work too. My heart goes out to him.. he really works very hard..

I really loved watching the guys skipping rocks (competitive spirits came out), and then on the hike & at the glacier. It was interesting to see how they dealt with just walking and not having to do an activity that requires specific focus. They experienced a rare event; having some time enjoying nature & being with each other with no real agenda for a few hours. They almost never get to do that! It was also interesting to see how they broke into different pods at different points during the hike, but always managed to catch-up to each other & create new pods throughout the entire trek. They are such a band of brothers. This episode was so relaxing to watch & the scenery was stunningly elegant. New Zealand 🇳🇿 is definitely on my bucket list 💜

BTS have played the ladder game in other shows too! The ladder game is also called "ghost leg" and it's popular in Japan and Korea. I think you got sorta got the gist of it but basically it is a fair way to assign things to people like how BTS play rock, paper, scissors to decide things. It's a lottery style game where you draw vertical lines for the number of people playing and draw random horizontal lines or "legs" in between. Each player chooses or is assigned a line and then follow the line downwards. Whatever thing was written at the end is what they get assigned to. It's actually a really cool game lol

Hey DT just letting you know stray kids dropped a music video for their b-side track ‘Ex’- it’s a lot different to their usual sound but really beautiful so if you wanted to check it out I think it’d be good. Also there’s no lyrics on the MV but it’s worth checking the lyrics beforehand to make sense of the MV!

- the ladder game - basically, you draw vertical lines for each player, then random horizontal lines connecting the vertical lines, like haphazard rungs of a ladder - each person is one end of a vertical line, the result is the other end - you then follow the vertical line to the end, taking every horizontal line detour as you run across one, until you end up at the other end of the ladder - the order of players is determined by the group, and it's basically a game of chance, hoping the detours work to your advantage - when Tae said the angels told him he'd get number 2 - he's not affiliated with any organized religion, but Tae is extremely spiritual and believes in angels and ghosts and supernatural things, and he does consult with his angels for answers every now and then - kimchi - if you're really desperate to try some kimchi, and are having difficulty getting some, you can order canned kimchi on Amazon - I'm Korean, and when I run out, I end up doing that - I get mine from Jongga - it's not completely the same, the canning process slightly cooks the kimchi, so it tastes more like kimchi soup than regular pickled kimchi, but it's passable and gets me through those desperate times when I'm unable to go to the Korean market for more - kimchi fried rice - ripe kimchi, toss in a pan with a bit of oil - add onions and minced garlic, a bit of sesame oil, leftover rice - top with fried egg - yummy yummy
