If you watch the movie of Burn the Stage you will see how bad it actually was, luckily they had a few weeks after that show for him to get better.

RM is an inspiration to a lot of people.

heavenlyonesbts

I love this whole series as it gives you so much more information on each of the boys and what motivates them. You're right in that them all being together just helps lift each other up and we are the ones who reap the benefits of that. Can't wait for the next episode ;)

Love your reactions to all things BTS! Just curious if, once you’re done with the Burn the Stage episodes, you’ll be reacting to Bring the Soul as well?

taesthetic_mots

RM has always been a songwriter from the introduction of BTS, he has had many collabs with many western as well as Korean artists but I don't think he has written songs for other artists which doesn't feature him... You should listen to his 2015 mixtape, it is seriously one of the most underrated collection from RM!! btw, I am Tae and Joon biased <3

I really love ur reactions please after this u should start with bts bring the soul series its only 6 episodes and it was in 2019

When will this end? )) bring the pain on, remember?)) they accepted all their shadows and fears) so I think and hope everything will be fine from now on) thank u for the reaction, DT) and since u reacted to We r bulletproof today, please watch this amazingly beautiful fanmade video) the song will hit u even harder) not for another reaction, just for yourself)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_Qh1UFt4_U&feature=emb_logo

I will try to answer 2 of your questions. First, I prefer that an artist be himself with his fans and honest with his personality, it's like a boyfriend or a girlfriend, it is always better to get someone's love by being transparent and honest otherwise disappointment awaits you. And secondly concerning RM as songwriters, I think he must have collaborated with other artists but it is rare and often he is in featuring like for example "Buckubucku" by MFBTY and "Winter flower" by Younha, but otherwise I really recommend his mixtape "Mono" that he had dropped on the platforms for free, it's really dope, I love listening to it when I hit the road or for an evening quiet, and it had been very successful worldwide.. And BTW thank you for your spontaneity.. From Paris

I am almost Namjoon's parents age, but I am not shy to say that I respect Namjoon as a human being who has a alert and sharp brain and warm heart and passion for music. He is a thinker.

Suga has written for other artists. RM, that I know of, only has written for other artists that he features with such as he just did with Younha and has done with Fall Out Boys, Wale etc. Jimin HAS rapped. You can check out Tony Montana and Ddaeng performance from 5th Muster to see how well/badly he's at it. :) If you do, PLEASE post. We'd love to see your reaction. Also, check out RM and Mono to see his solo work. In RM you get to see angry RM, the Leader finally letting lose because he didn't have to be circumspect for the group and fans. You get to see him respond to the taunts and disrespect as the underground hiphop artist he once was. In Mono you get to see reflective RM. I think in this mixtape he finally finds peace with all the facets of the man and artist. He is absolutely amazing! I respect him so greatly. I'm 52 and no joke, he taught me to grow up, FINALLY, lol. A dude half my age. Imagine that!

I know RM has written for Drunken Tiger, Korea's hip-hop OG. I think being BTS's leader, main lyricist and working on his own mixtapes he wouldn't have much time to write lyrics for other artists. Suga though, he's established himself as a song composer for other artists. He composed the music for Halsey's "Suga's Interlude" Suran's "Wine", Heize "We don't talk together", Epik High's "Eternal Sunshine" among others. Suga said his computer has hundreds of songs just sitting untouched (In Who is BTS he did say he writes a song a day).

RM and Hitman Bang wrote a song called "Dilemma" for Homme - a duo under Bighit entertainment. So far, it always a collaborations with American and Korean artists. But most of the times, RM is involved in BTS albums. if you have the MOTS7, you can see in the song book of how many songs he participated in. And speaking of the Mic Drop video, I always watch the video everytime I need a laugh lol #facts. BTW, I am a filipino mom who adored BTS because I felt like I was given five boys which I was not lucky to have. Also, RM is the tallest of the group. He is 5'11 and the shortest is Jimin 5'8.

DT, "Bring The Soul" is the next BTS movie. Please react to that as well.

Anonymous

I enjoyed watching your reaction to the episode! I really hope you'll react to burn the stage: the movie after finishing the docu-series! I literally went to the cinema to watch the movie 3 times lol. Bighit have uploaded the movie on youtube red now!

Aya

I think he should watch Bon Voyage after this series is done, Bring the soul series is too similar to this, i think it can get a bit repetitive. BV2 & BV4 would be awesome, as all 7 are there the entire time. and he also said he liked seeing the travel aspect so bon voyage is perfect!

RM has always battle on establishing the identity that he relates to the most. He conflicts between being RM and being Namjoon and how far does these two personas merge or separate from each other. It's a constant dilemma that he goes through knowing that both identity is as important as they both defines him albeit in different ways. I think the concept of Love Myself started way back before they began the era. In his song 'Reflection' RM really calls out on his predicament. It's sad when he has to say, 'I wish I could love myself'.. and we probably cannot truly understand his inner battle but our hearts go out to him. This is the reason why it makes him human despite the celebrity status he is in. This is also why ARMY love the boys so much.

msathenas

this is my favorite burn the stage episode, i've watched it at least 8 times :(( it is what made me realise that namjoon was /the one/ even if they all have a place in my heart

msathenas

hobi is super bright but he is SUPER serious too sjsjjssj

Emily

The end part he sings I wish I could love myself and we sing back we love you its really special. Lately Namjoon has been doing all the things he loves to do and I love that.

It's true! Jimin has the smallest fingers in BTS while Tae has the biggest. They are opposites yet find many new things in common. The boys talked about this haha it was even mentioned in their song 'Friends' - the song about these two, naming each other as their soulmates.

SK

I love the part where RM was talking about himself as RM and Namjoon in 2017 – especially now when we have MOTS 7. He was asked the same question again in 2019 (how is RM different from Namjoon?) – ‘BTS Festa 2019’ - and RM asked the question to everyone. After MOTS 7, I watched the part again and I thought their answers were interesting. Almost everyone – except for Tae who said he didn’t really know how he is different from V on stage - said their ‘persona’ is quite different from ‘themselves’ and explained how. You might want to check it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPW2PCPYzEE&t=1259s). : ) Thank you!

OMG! I didn’t know that you are Half Filipino!!! Wuhoo! 🇵🇭

Jaeyi

Just a little suggestion! If possible, please try not to talk too much when the video is going, or always feel free to pause! You sometimes miss things here and there

It's interesting to see/watch rm talks about his struggle with Kim namjoon/rm thing because that's basically the bases for their map of the soul era; balancing between their persona and their real self, and also accepting the shadows that came with them being idols. We can see how much they grow as a person not only from recent interviews but also from the songs on the album alone.

Mahra

i cant wait to see you reacting to bon voyage s1 s2 s3 s4 lol, i always feel like im traveling with them

Yes.. BTS is not toxic. They enjoy and love what they are doing.. BTS love music so much..They are not worried about losing their fans/fame, BTS is worried about losing their love for music. But the fans is the one who is toxic sometimes. Although all of the artists/idols have a toxic fans.. But now that BTS is so famous worldwide so expect that there are also some toxic fans. I really miss the old times but I'm really proud to BTS and ARMY who really work hard for this. Some fans of BTS are saying that army is so toxic now than before the reason why they leave the fandom and losing interest to BTS. But for me. Yes I can see it but I understand that it's because BTS is famous so you can see more people being toxic to their idols.. I choose to stay with them. I will support their love for music. I love them because of their music and their personalities.. Not because of their fans own perceptions/personalities .. I really love BTS and ARMY who support BTS and stay with them until now.

I'm not Filipino but I was born there. My sister was also adopted from there while we were overseas. I really want to go back and visit someday because I was really young when we left.

You should react to american hustle life! it's so awkwardly adorable lol

Joycelyn Lorenzo

Like others said, if you want to live vicariously through their travels, then watch/react to Bon Voyage! There are currently 4 seasons -- I suggest you start with the first season and work your way through season 4. Bon Voyage definitely shows how they live from day-to-day and how they react when put in normal situations -- they basically are left to "fend" for themselves without major assistance from their managers. Also, you asked about RM writing for other artists -- he recently collaborated and co-wrote Younha's "Winter Flower". He had tweeted suggesting her music a while back. She has a great voice!

Another thing some don't know about RM. In their early days, when they were getting stupid hate from other countries, and RM would interpret and 'read' the comments for the rest of the team...he would tell them it said something positive to keep their spirits and energy up. He kept the hate for himself and absorbed that burden for the team. They didn't find out he had been doing that until much later.

The most recent heights listed for them ( some have grown over the past couple years) are...RM=5'11"...Jin and V are both 5' 10.5"... J-Hope and JK are both 5'10"... and Suga and Jimin are both 5'9".

I think truly opening up is the way. It’s the only way to truly get people behind you and rooting for you. This is one of the big reasons bts is as big as they are bc they are so vulnerable with their audience people feel like they can relate and they feel connected with the boys and this is why the fanbase is so passionate. i feel a s though you can be as great as you are, but if you don’t have the story to back it then people won’t be as on board with you. BTS success relies on not only their insane talent but the emotional openness and vulnerability they have with their fans which you don’t see a lot in the kpop industry, especially the older ones.

I can't watch all of your video from vimeo, i'm so sad..

Sheez, so I'm like, He looks like Filipino somehow but I think he's half Mexican. 😂

theGeekOutGirl

I’m sure someone already said it but you should check out their Bon Voyage series if you want to see how it is to travel around with them :). I think they’ve been to Northern Europe, Hawaii, Malta, and New Zealand so far.

Please react to bon voyage! Every season is awesome! My favorite is their most recent s4. Watched it so many times it was so good!

As I was watching this video and the moment I realised you’re Filipino? Whaaat? I know you said in one of your other videos that you’re half asian but I never would’ve guessed you’re Filipino.

Tae has longest fingers, not biggest =]]. His hands/ fingers are thin and pretty tho. They are kinda "piano fingers"... Btw, I think RM's fingers are the biggest (or/and longest) among the members. Tae compared his fingers to Jimin, who has smallest fingers, doesn't mean his fingers are biggest in the group. Anw, nice day ^^~

Angie

i think both are good in a way, like there's no wrong way to being too honest or not honest enough. I love that Namjoon (and jimin and yoongi) is open and outspoken with his feelings and emotions and thoughts, but i also love how tae and jungkook and sometimes jin are more hidden and reserved, leaving room for interpretation. You can usually tell a lot about someone by how they react to things, so while people (such as tae, jungkook and jin) are more reserved, we can kind of tell who they are, same goes with other artists that leave mystery. I dont think it's them lying, but them being reserved :) hoseok is a bit of an in the middle, cause he opens up but not a lot? idk

I'm filipino!!

Anonymous

wow! I didn’t know you’re half filipino. I’m from the Philippines 🇵🇭. Just to answer some of your questions, RM does not really produce or write songs for other artists mainly because he’s mostly in charge of writing songs for BTS. The other members contribute especially Suga. Suga is the one that produces songs for other artists (probably because that was his main dream from the start is to become a successful song writer/producer) and he even won a best producer award. But recently RM wrote a song for Younha (korean female artist) called Winter Flower. He was requested to write it and yes he was being requested by a lot of artists but because of their busy schedules he can’t just accept offers and requests. Another one of your question is about RM leaving a bit of a mystery of himself. I kinda understand that. I don’t know if you believe in zodiac signs personalities but... RM & JK are virgo’s like me. And Virgo tend to pull back a little when we notice we’re being ‘exposed’ or if we feel like everyone’s already saying they know us. I think RM is a like that especially JK (who only tweets and share things about himself once a month, sometimes once in a few months). Anyway, I don’t know if you still read new comments from your past videos and I’m sorry I was late to subscribe here in patreon I was really trying hard before but I had trouble with the payment method coz i don’t have a credit card 😂.

Filipino in da house! I purple you!

FYI J-Hope is the group's stage manager. They always have a cue sheet, so they start with that. Before each show, they'll review the cue sheet and assign the ad libs. As you see in this episode, based on how they feel (I'm speaking physically, like V had a slight sore throat), or jokingly, they'll assign certain members to do an ad lib on a certain song, or how long members will speak. They try to keep the show tight and the fans engaged. J-Hope especially keeps a tight rein on the visual aspect and knows what's happening even when the lights are out.

BTS's largest fanbase is from Indonesia; second largest is from South Korea. I think BTS was quite proud to hold one of their LY:SY concerts in Riyadh, which was livestreamed. BigHit took care to make sure certain things were done both backstage and onstage to be sensitive culturally to their hosts. ARMY in the desert and in the middle of the ocean!
