Hello my dear friends. We are gathered here to celebrate the fact that this video is done. I will be completely transparent.

I hate this video lmao.

I don't think it's bad. In fact it might be pretty good. It's a little on the punchier/funnier side (I hope. DAMN I hope lol) I just... I was not excited about this one. I talked about this in the stream earlier this week but I wrote this down as a topic a few months ago and LOVED the premise. But after making the video on consuming media wrong and the one on game reviews, this one just felt... dry. Like I was writing the same video AGAIN even if it is all new research. I'm tired of writing about the internet's effect on our perception of games. By the time I realized that, I was already wayyyy into this video's production and I had a deadline to meet. It is what it is.

BUT. But but but. This means now I'm free to start tackling some other stuff. And again, I don't think this video is bad haha. It's just not a home run. Sometimes we bunt! That's okay. And hey, this very well could strike a chord with some people and be a sneaky favorite haha.

Let me know what you think! And stay tuned, I have some fun plans ahead for everyone here on the Patreon :)

Why Your Body Rejects “Popular” Games

🕹 Stop torturing yourself and get Opera GX: https://operagx.gg/DarylTalksGames6 Sponsored by Opera GX! I have a weird handful of friends that… even if they don’t explicitly say it, are less likely to play a game if it’s too “popular.” And strangely, I get it. I’m like that often as well. So naturally, it was time to dig into the psychology behind this. Its ironic in a sense that I saw your post before I saw the video and just as another patron mentioned I was also influenced by you judging it before I was able to myself, haha. It's a great video dude <3

You know what’s funny, when you showed the graph of exposures with “go off king” and then “who tf do you think you are?” It really reminded me of how a lot of the NFL fanbase has soured on the Chiefs recently. That first game against the patriots in 2018, EVERYBODY wanted them to win. During this run everyone I talked to was rooting against them.
