Also, the part where Kendrick says “Game came through, put the city on his back I was in the city with a nigga, had seen that shit” That’s because prior to Game, the west coast didn’t have a prominent artist. The west coast kind of fell off the hip hop map after pac got killed, while The whole focus was in New York (jay z, Nas, 50 and G unit, etc), the mid west (kanye, twista, common, Eminem, etc) or in the south with all the crunk music that was coming out at the time. So when game came out, he literally had a whole coast on his shoulders. Everyone from the west was riding with him. He was like our last hope to keep the west alive. He became the face of the west. To the point that Dre and snoop passed the king of the west coast torch to him....which he later passed on to Kendrick. I suggest you watch that video. Very emotional. Kendrick gets in tears
