Wordless spells are in the novels, I think the students start learning them in their 5th year.

Thanks for the reaction, guys! So there are a few things to add: 1) in the book they reveal all of the members and explain the story of the Marauders' Map and how Lupin was the glue and reason for the map to appear in the first place, which is amazing. Here's a recap: Lupin was bit by a werewolf when he was a child, and his parents were concerned about how he would study, but Dumbledore said that he'd take precautions for that. So he built that shack on the edge of Hocksmit, enchanted it, and said it was haunted so that no one would dare to enter. That was Lupin's secret hideaway every time he turned. But once his friends noticed that he was disappearing for a few days every month and him being very secretive about it, they followed him and witnessed the transformation. Because Lupin was their friend, they decided that keeping him company would make him feel better. Peter Pettigrew, Serious Black, and James Potter decided to become animagus. That magic is strictly controlled by the ministry (I believe, legally you are able to become animagus only under Ministry's approval and your form and its physical distinctions are kept in the books). It takes a long while to develop and is very advance. But after all of the processes, they were able to turn into a designated animal (without a record of that in the Ministry of Magic). That is, by the way, another reason why no one searched for Peter Pettigrew after the incident and had trouble finding Serius - no one knew they could be animals. Back to the map and what role it played... So, they all turn into creatures to support Lupin on the full moon and keep him company, but they need to sneak out of the castle somehow, so they have made an enchanted map to roam around and break rules unnoticed. It actually showed even the ghosts. 2) silent incantations: all of the spells can be done without the incantation out loud. But that comes with practice (you cannot learn to walk before you learn how to crawl). They do learn the silent spells later on, but the fact of silent incantation is a showcase of the power of the wizard. 3) The same goes for the wand: theoretically, you can do magic without a wand, as magic is inside the wizard itself. The wand is only channeling the magic in the right direction and amplifies it. To compare, you can get on a boat, but you would be dependent on the wind and the currents. But when you put a motor in, you can get places faster and you control where you are going with more precision. A great example of this is how Harry blew Marge at the start of the movie - he did not use his wand to cast a spell, it was a strong physical self-protective reaction, but he had no control over it and could not undo it. 4) Underage magic contradictions and such: did you guys notice that Harry was messing with Vernon at the very start of the movie with the Lumos Maxima spell? And after Marge flew away, Vernon said that he cannot do magic while not in school. How does he know that? - Well, after Dobby's visit a year before, the Dursleys got a message from the Ministry that they have spotted an unauthorized magic performance, which is why they are now aware that they are more or less secure from Harry using magic until he is of age. But if magic cannot be performed, why did Harry use Lumos? - that was creative liberty in the film, which devalued the whole ban. In the books, he was studying in the light of a flashlight, which is more realistic with the whole underage magic ban. And lastly, the case of Marge - Harry was forgiven of this incident for a few reasons: a) it was not an intentional incantation, so it doesn't count; b) Fudge needed to butter up with Harry in the view of the latest escape of Serius
