This is such a gorgeous movie. From such a bizarre concept, they managed to create a really deep story with some beautifully hard-hitting lines (“Change is nature, Dad”) and important messages. The whole movie is great, but starting from Remy bursting into the kitchen and Linguini telling the other cooks about him, all the way up to the end, are what truly make this a work of art. Ego’s review is just an amazing piece of writing, and I love Remy’s family coming together to help him. This is definitely the kind of movie that makes you want to cook. XD I only watch this movie on nights where I’ve cooked a good dinner - it just feels wrong watching it if I’ve got reheated pizza on my plate or something. Im the one who makes dinner at my house, and while I don’t always have the energy for a big, complicated meal, I do love to cook. There’s just something so satisfying about it. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, or if you’ve come across it yourself, but in 2020, a bunch of people on TikTok came together and wrote a fan musical of Ratatouille. It got so big that they actually did a full-ish recording of the musical with professional actors in the role, including Tituss Burgess, Wayne Brady, and even freaking Adam Lambert. :D Not sure where you could find a full version of the musical, since it was only officially available for a short time, but if you get the chance you should give it a watch - either to review it, or just to watch on your own time. It’s honestly a really good musical.
