I'm not sure if anyone commented this already, but one of the reasons stories like this are so powerful, is because the underlying meanings are so realistic and relevant. Yes, innocent deaths happened on both sides. However, it is realistic. Because of pride, arrogance, hatred, and hunger for power, innocent lives are always paying the price on both sides of the coin. It's a terrible truth and it's hard to watch, but it's so necessary to recognize and accept that it is a truth. As terrible and unjust as it is, it is proof that humans can do terrible things, and can be terrible beings. I like that these stories really don't hide that.

so in the start of it, it's a bit late to explain- but the pharaoh ordered all the slave's baby sons be killed in fear of them growing stronger than his men, and overthrowing them, basically

Yes, but you were right that something very similar happened hundreds of years later when Jesus was born and they ordered babies under two to be killed again in hopes of stopping the Messiah. That time, Jesus and his parents fled TO Egypt to escape. Jesus parallels Moses in a lot of ways, being the prince who saves his people (and all people) from their slavery to sin and eventually becoming the sacrificial Passover Lamb whose blood covers his people and protects them from death. It's not a coincidence that the Last Supper is when they are celebrating the Passover and remembering this story. So many cool parallels, I could go on forever, but I'll end the biblical nerd rant session there. :)

So since you didn’t know a lot about this story or dreamworks (and I do not know if you know now since I’m a new subscriber) but this movie was Dreamworks FIRST ever movie. They wanted to make an impact in the film industry so they decided to do an animated tale of The Exodus. w hich is the story in the Bible(Christianity and it’s sub religions; the Quran which is the Muslim religious book; and the original text the Tanakh(this is the writings of the Jewish faith that’s in three separate books; you probably heard of one: the Torah.) Well anyway they did deviate from the storyline such as if I remember correctly Moses was adopted by the Daughter of Pharaoh and he did meet his mother before she passed. And the plagues only affected that of the Egyptian people except for the last plague which spread throughout all of Egypt. Another interesting fact is that Pharaoh is never actually named in the story of Moses and the Exodus. All religious texts only know him as Pharaoh but it is believe by some that it was under Rameses the Great that the Hebrews were freed though there is no hard evidence of the Hebrews being enslaved in Egypt because the Egyptians were propagandists, they Never recorded anything that put them in bad light. As for DreamWorks you mentioned Disney being in the beginning but no DreamWorks and Disney are two separate companies. Btw DreamWorks is the studio that did the Shrek movies. They have many hit movies.
