You accidentally posted the link for your reaction to Wreck It Ralph here. Not for Tangled. Just so you're aware. :)

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

I've been having trouble getting the google drive link to playback videos in 1080p. This is a great tip! Downloaded the video, can watch in 1080p now :)

So, JV, I did some work - I came here to push Shrek for your next franchise, then heard you say you werenā€™t familiar with many of the original princesses. I crafted some lists for you reviewing ā€œall the animationsā€ to give a little structure in attempting to react to 80 years of cinema. Thatā€™s a lot!! Obviously this is not intended to be comprehensive and all-inclusive ā€“ I hope people are easy on me if I overlooked a favorite, and can find some appropriate place to add in the most important that I may have missed. I tried to organize them by age, phase, or other theme that made some sense, and will create multiple posts to get the best feedback for these from your community. I tried to include movies Iā€™ve heard you mention as well as others Iā€™ve seen mentioned here. Thereā€™s quite a few I havenā€™t seen myself and also a handful that arenā€™t just animation. Tackle them how you best see fit. I did my best ā€“ I hope itā€™s useful!

Video Game movies to follow Wreck It Ralph 2018 - Ralph Breaks the Internet 2018 - Ready Player One 2015 - Pixels You could put the Jumanji movies (1995, 2017) here too. These are within your current themes, seasonally and animation-style 2010 - Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Gaā€™Hoole 2009 - 9 (Burton) 2009 - Princess and the Frog 2009 - Fantastic Mr Fox (stop motion) 2009 - Monsters vs Aliens 2012 - ParaNorman 2012 - Hotel Transylvania 2014 - Book of Life 2015 - Hotel Transylvania 2 2017 - Coco 2018 - Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation

Stef Furness

Classics for Shrek. These early animations are short enough that you could probably post them as one consolidated review on YT. Shrek is a huge fairy tale parody, but not just Disney. 1937 - Snow White 1959 - Sleeping Beauty 1950 - Cinderella 2001 - Shrek This list will get you through the rest of the major classics before Shrek 2. (There are other classics included in later lists for other reasons, but this covers a large collection up to Disneyā€™s ā€œGolden Ageā€.) 1951 - Alice in Wonderland 1953 - Peter Pan 1963 - Sword in the Stone 1973 - Robin Hood 1940 - Pinocchio 1941 - Dumbo 1942 - Bambi 1967 - Jungle Book 2004 - Shrek 2

Stef Furness

This is a must-see list covering live-action mixed with traditional animation. Both Mary Poppins movies also include Dick Van Dyke who was recently lauded in the recent WandaVision series. 1940 - Fantasia 1964 - Mary Poppins 1971 - Bedknobs and Broomsticks 1977 - Peteā€™s Dragon 1988 - Who Framed Roger Rabbit? 1992 - Cool World 1999 - Fantasia 2000 2018 - Mary Poppins Returns

Stef Furness

Golden Age pt 1 ā€“ combine this as you see fit w the second part, I was just trying to keep the French movies together 1989 - The Little Mermaid 1991 - Beauty and the Beast 1996 - Hunchback of Notre Dame 1997 - Anastasia (part of Fox purchase, was not a Disney production)

Stef Furness

Itā€™s Raining Cats and Dogs 1970 - Aristocats 1955 - Lady and the Tramp 1961 - 101 Dalmatians 1981 - Fox and the Hound 1989 - All Dogs go to Heaven 1988 - Oliver and Company 2008 - Bolt 2009 - G-Force (not quite cats and dogs ā€“ hamsters!) 2013 - Turbo (snails and Snoop Dogg!) 2016 - Secret Life of Pets

Stef Furness

Disney Golden Age pt 2 1992 - Aladdin 1994 - Lion King 1995 - Pocahontas 1997 - Hercules 1998 - Prince of Egypt (also not Disney, but it fits) 1998 - Mulan 1999 - Tarzan

Stef Furness

These are must-watch animations. 1992 - FernGully: the Last Rainforest 2000 - Emperorā€™s New Groove 2001 - Atlantis 2008 - Dragon Hunters Rotoscope animation ā€“ gorgeous, but these are not made for children 2001 - Waking Life 2006 - A Scanner Darkly Not animated but everything in this post, together with Wall-E (2008), reinspired (and continues!) my hope for the future of movies. 2001 - The Last Castle 2005 - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (RDJ pre-Iron Man) 2005 - V for Vendetta 2006 - Lucky Number Slevin 2007 - Stardust (not nearly as dark as Coraline, but Neil Gaiman wrote both) 2007 - Shrek the Third 2010 - Shrek Forever After

Stef Furness

Water-themed leading into seasonalā€¦I donā€™t know much about these ones ā€“ Iā€™ve only seen three, not counting Tangled that you just posted. 2002 - Lilo and Stitch 2016 - Moana 2021 - Raya and the Last Dragon 2021 - Luca 2007 - Ratatouille 2009 - Up 2010 - Tangled 2012 - Brave 2013 - Frozen 2019 - Frozen 2 2020 - Onward

Stef Furness

Seasonal 2002 - Ice Age 2006 - Happy Feet 2006 - Ice Age: The Meltdown 2009 - Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs 2011 - Happy Feet 2 2012 - Ice Age: Continental Drift 2015 - The Good Dinosaur 2016 - Ice Age: Collision Course

Stef Furness

Need for Speed!! If you want to dig back for mixed animation here, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Herbie the Love Bug, or even the Absent-Minded Professor leading into Flubber would work I think, as well as The Brave Little Toaster. 2006 - Cars 2008 - Bolt 2009 - G-Force 2011 - Cars 2 2013 - Planes 2013 - Cars 3 2013 - Turbo 2014 - Planes: Fire and Rescue

Stef Furness

Stef Furness

Stef Furness

This is a mixed bag with an early lean on Robin Williams ā€“ thereā€™s a lot of fantastic robots and swashbuckling here. 1991 - Hook 1997 - Flubber 1998 - Lost in Space 1999 - Bicentennial Man 2000 - Titan A.E. 2002 - Treasure Planet 2003 - Secondhand Lions 2003 - Big Fish 2005 - Robots 2007 - Meet the Robinsons 2007 - Stardust 2008 - Wall-E 2009 - Astro Boy

Stef Furness

CelticRabbit

Cinema Therapy did a video on how abuse is shown in Tangled, really recommend a watch. https://youtu.be/Efua__7B7j4 Also love the SG-1 reactions!

Tonic

Lol I definitely get where youā€™re coming from but Iā€™m positive you just overwhelmed him with all these movie lists you just posted šŸ˜šŸ˜

Stef Furness

I get where you're coming from too and that's why I broke them up into multiple lists. He's a tech guy into sci-fi - I really don't think he's overwhelmed so easily by a few lists.

Raven Dark

Wow, JV, this was a fantastic reaction. You made me so happy. My recommendations for animated movies you should watch: Shrek Shrek 2 (I don't care for Shrek 3 and 4 much) The Croods (the sequel is okay but not as good as the first one) All three movies are super funny and would have lots of things you'd love.

Raven Dark

Oh, I forgot to mention something. I was trying to think what other Disney Princess movies you should check out next. I think you'd really like Mulan, and Hercules. Both have plenty of action, and stronger more active heroines than some of the older Disney classic princess movies. Oh, and yes, there is some debate as to whether Mulan is technically a Disney princess, but I can't get into that until after you watch it because of spoilers. I'll leave a comment about it on your reaction when you watch the movie.

Stef Furness

The improvement in animation from the first to fourth is amazing to watch though!

kadijah hampton

This movie was the epitome of gas lighting (rapunzel and her "mother").

Jala Rhone

I'm honestly so glad that you frequently post content. Other creators don't and just post every other week or month, but I'm definitely getting my money's worth with you> This reaction was so good!

e com

I am so glad you liked Maximus, he is one of my favorite characters. I am a child of the 80's, 2 of my favorite animated movies are An American Tail and The Secret of Nimh, which i mentioned in the reaction to the Stargate episode Urgo because Dom Deluise plays side characters in those movies. Aladdin and The Emperor's New Groove are also really good. I love your reactions, your empathy always shines. This particular reaction is helping me get through a migraine, so thank you!

Stef Furness

Finger-wagging? *tsk tsk* Lmao. They're feel-good movies about gaming I think he'd get a kick out of because the animation styles are not typical, and he is a gamer. You must not be. Let's just be happy I didn't add Surf Ninjas - also a gamer movie, but way more hokey! ;-)

Lana Sunderland

He's watching all the best movies , keep up the good work!

Stef Furness

Do An American Tale and The Secret of Nimh go with Fivel Goes West?? They're a few I had to edit out just for lack of familiarity. Edit: Oh!! *Fievel Goes West IS An American Tale

e com

Fivel Goes West is a sequel to An American Tail. I have never seen it.

Vapecave

As a dude in my 20s this movie still gets me everytime hah. Cheers for the movie reactions man I enjoy having them on whilst I do photography work/editing in my studio.

Rae Carson

This is one of Disney's finest!!! It's been majorly satisfying for me watching your reactions and seeing your ability to predict what comes next. I love your facial expressions and that you don't shy away from little things -- but that your emotions are still genuine, not overblown or done merely for clicks.
