Aw everyone will have wet eyes at this ending. It's just the best animated TV show I've ever seen. It was fun to see you reacting to the whole series. I hope you'll show it to Jane and your daughters when they're old enough! Alex Hirsch, the creator, wanted to make just this two seasons without any continuation. The main story is over and he didn't want to take the risk of "ruining" it by making more seasons. I'm still suggesting "Centaurworld" as a new series to watch now. It's very similar to Gravity Falls. Heartwarming, funny, a little scary and beautifully made. I'm sure you'll love it! ♥

"Heh. Guess I was good for something after all." sobbing everytime Stan says that line. A lifetime of such low self-worth that the only thing he thinks he was ever good for was having his mind erased with Bill in it. That's so incredibly sad. Man, what a great show. I remember watching the finale and just being so sad that it was over, while also peeling my eyes for anything and everything in the background. Like Soos showing Fiddleford what is clearly an Evangelion reference (that's totally Shinji Ikari and Eva unit 02). I wasn't sure if you would be watching this as the 2-part or split, because Disney+ split the episode in two on their site. I think it works a lot better this way, honestly. There are a few images I want to share pertaining to this ending. One is the 'page flash' I've kept mentioning, and that you've seen a few times. You can take every one from each episode of S2 and it makes an image, and it was just a fun puzzle to solve over the course of 20 episodes. I'm so glad you stuck with this show to the end. It's something that was really formative for me, and a lot of people as well. I love that you caught the OP music being used in a battle remix in the middle, nice catch.

What's also worth mentioning: Right before Stan punched Bill Cipher into pieces, he spoke a backwards message. It says: "A-X-O-L-O-T-L! My time has come to burn! I invoke the ancient power that I may return!" So, thinking about this fact, if Stan managed to get back his full memory, there's a chance Bill survived. Also, this is non-canon according to Alex Hirsch, but there's a tale about Dipper and Mabel meeting a giant, powerful extra-dimensional Axolotl which is much more powerful than Bill and Time Baby. The siblings are allowed to ask one question each. Dipper asked, what the Axolotl knows about Bill Cipher. It replies with the following: Sixty degrees that come in threes. Watches from within birch trees. Saw his own dimension burn. Misses home and can't return. Says he's happy. He's a liar. Blame the arson for the fire. If he wants to shirk the blame, He'll have to invoke my name. One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time.
