We saw shadow fighters in the second episode of season, two pursuing G’Kar and some Narn fighters and and also in “the long twilight struggle” where a Shadow battle crab launched them. That said, I kinda like Vera’s point about fighters making the Shadows more mundane BUUT it is worth remembering that the white star is a combination of Minbari tech & Vorlon tech and the Minbari are among the oldest of the younger races & Vorlons are a super ancient race with bio technology like the Shadows so the white star being able to destroy a Shadow fighter seems believable in universe.

Also, Vera’s worry about how Bester’s would be seen is so valid. Funnily enough as teenager watching B5 for the first time I was grossed out by Ironheart being Talia’s teacher in season 1 (and so for the sake of an otherwise excellent story I ignore it) but I never questioned the legitimacy of Bester’s romance until much later & given how Bester is presented talking about her in season 4 I’m not sure the show really questions it either (unfortunately).

Yeah; that's a lot of what I'm finding with B5. I ADORE IT so much, but it has some glaring blindspots that I think are typical of 90s shows, but interesting to see on rewatch
