Haven't caught up yet, but viewers seem to have less issues with this episode's runtime than TLOU finale.

This season seems to have been the most unfocused and oddly paced. I'm bored by Mandalorian culture and I feel like they've lost the plot of the show being about a bounty hunter. I do want to know how the last half of this season is going to shape up if they can tie the first four episodes into something more.

Hey now... I love the show specifically because it is dumb af lolz.

Didn’t really enjoy the first episode but the season is growing on me. Also the Jedi who saves Grogu in the flashback is apparently played by Ahmed Best, the actor who played JarJar Binks in the prequels. Given how much uncalled for mistreatment he received from parts of the fandom for playing that role I’m glad to know he got to return to the Star Wars universe. Hopefully we’ll see more from his character in future. The little we got in the flashback has me intrigued.

This was one of my more chill and appreciated episodes of the season because it was more focused and gave looks into the culture of the children of the watch, but I agree some things were set up for plot to happen and didn’t make sense logically, as also the foundling that was taken was the same foundling attacked in episode one. I do think Paz running in impulsively made sense for his character though as we’ve seen him be brash and angry before, and it was fun to find out he has a kid. This episode did put into perspective the overall issue for the season for me though, of both Din being sidelined and not engaged with, and the complicated inter-mando culture topics they aren’t engaging with. We literally have a Kryze and a Viszla in the same place, and there’s no talk of death watch, of that history, of any of it. Yeah mando hasn’t always been a deep show but if they were aiming for a deeper season they needed to focus on the story beats they set up for themselves, not something that while enjoyable feels emotionally shallow and doesn’t track for the characters involved.
