THAT BIG ANNOUCEMENT (Patreon)

So... I CAN FINALLY SHARE THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT WITH YOU ALL. It's not officially out in the wild yet, but I'll be announcing it on Saturday on the live stream that I hope you all will join cause we're gonna have some awesome guests, I think, on it. More than I was able to say in the official announcement video. But I wanted to share it with you all first.  

As many of you know, I have been working on a trans-focused scifi short film (basically think The Matrix meets Severance) project that I'm directing with my producer Dr. Erin Macdonald, who all you Trekkies may know as the science advisor on Star Trek stuff, a character in Star Trek Prodigy and my friend. She also runs an small LGBTQ-women-focused film production company, and she's going to be producing my film. 

WE WERE going to announce a Kickstarter campaign last week (which is what the video that accidentally went up said), but... literally at the last minute on Wednesday last week, Nebula reached out cause they had heard about it and said... oh, why are you doing a Kickstarter. We'll fund the whole thing AND give it a big release when it's done in theaters and on Nebula... Which is... WILD. So, no stress on if it's gonna happen or not, no worrying over the Kickstarter, and no having to ask folks to give money upfront. WHICH IS AMAZING.

So, this project is definitely happening, which is SO COOL. I'm so honored. But beyond that guarantee, it's happening; the other cool reason it made sense to do it this way was for everyone in this community to get something more. Instead of funding Kickstarter, instead in a way that makes sense for Nebula, they want folks to sign up for Nebula as part of the promotion for this project. Obviously, that's their goal, get more people on their service. But what makes sense is, instead of paying money for Kickstarter, just pay money for Nebula's service instead of using my code. What that does it 1) give money to Nebula, 2) I get money for the sign up to with my code, 3) it helps all the creators on Nebula cause Nebula pays us for watches, views, and signups, and 4) everyone gets access to Nebula, so you get stuff like Philosophy Tube's The Prince, etc... So like, it seems like a symbiotic relationship for everyone instead of just Kickstarter, where it just goes to the project and not supporting me, and Erin directly pay our bills while we make it, and everyone gets to watch cool stuff until Identiteaze comes out, THEN you get it on Nebula which you'll already have.

So long and short, first and foremost, you all on patron have supported me a ton. So you will get access to Identiteaze no matter what here on Patron. I couldn't have done this without you. But I wanted to at least let you know that your support at DIRECTLY led to Nebula feeling I'm worth the risk. And if you were considering donating to the Kickstarter but still wanna support Identiteaze, just sign up for Nebula using my code JESSIEGENDER. But again, zero pressure on that cause you've all supported me enough, and your helping here on Patreon already means I can pay my bills during all this.  My plan is that any profits if any, I make from Identiteaze (which won't be for a while cause Nebula is going to take all the profit until they recoup their investment and then take a percentage) are going to be given to Erin, her production company, and/or the next project we do together after Identiteaze. Because I'm sure, there will be one.

So that's the announcement. It's gone from "maybe Identiteaze will happen, and I'll have to figure out how to share it with my YouTube audience" to IDENTITEAZE IS DEFINITELY GONNA HAPPEN, AND PEOPLE WILL BE EASILY ABLE TO ACCESS IT! So that's really cool.

Anyways, I hope to see you all on the live stream Saturday. And if you want Nebula, I'd be appreciative if you signed up at nebula.tv/jessiegender cause it will show Nebula that their investment in the film was worthwhile.
