Just finished watching it. So now I'm here to watch this :D I've been excited since watching you and Sean on the post-premiere video.

Happy to know Riker and Picard's silliness are back!

I think I must be an outlier when it comes to Picard. I just loved the first two seasons because of how they went deep into psychology! Bringing greater understanding of the characters, and a less regimented vibe worked on many levels for me! I’m totally sure season 3 will take twists and turns. I also love how previous seasons recognised themes like aging and mortality, which is so central to the story and maybe drives a different type of style. Looking forward to seeing this season progress!

It is good so far. Thank goodness.

Wow, that first ep got the adrenalin pumping for sure :-) They did do some needless exposition, but I'll forgive as it was ep1 plot ramp-up. I have hopes Laris will return later, mainly because the security\ terrorism references were being dropped all through the ep, and that's kind of her thing (along with Raffy).

I'm calling this right now, Reg Barclay is the father of Beverly Crusher's son.

I didn't care for season one because too Dystopian with some people living in trailers and really going against that improved human future thing. Season 2: Q is the ultimate character but the season seemed to run established continuity through a shredder. I conclude that Starfleet psychologists are really bad at their jobs since they apparently never caught onto Picard's delusion that his mother lived to old age and that he thought his father, who was in Starfleet, hated Starfleet. Plus the lack of anything like even fire fighting tech in the home supporting the original continuity. But I could go on and on. Of course, as someone who was around when TNG originally aired (and TOS for that matter- yes, I'm that old), seeing the crew of TNG get back together is a big plus that may overcome any problems. But I like that there are legitimate reasons and that they are furthering the relationships. And, as always, watch a new Star Trek and then right over to you and your review, Jessie.

Some random thoughts: "Red Lady" is an anagram of "Dearly D", perhaps a little, kind thought about the Enterprise D. Also can Cpt. Garret not catch a break? First her Enterprise is wrecked in a space time conundrum and then (no spoilers) the big event in episode 1.

During the end credits, one of Okuda-gram screens does mention the holodeck running program "Bar" with the safety protocols off...

I'm kind of looking forward to this. On the one hand, Picard on arc and worldbuilding has been dissatisfying to me. On the other hand I actually do like the characters whenever they get two seconds to breathe. It's been a conflicting experience so far.

Yes, unfortunately, with all of the good qualities of current television/ streaming shows, there's also an attitude that you'll lose the audience's interest if you slow down for a minute.

the thing about the back and forth with Seven and Raffi is the forward is the generally the books and backwards for the beginning of the next series
