Well, we have finally reached Season 2 of Babylon 5 on the Jumpgate podcast, and we get to meet MR TRON HIMSELF, JOHN SHERIDAN! Hellz yeah. And I promise, I only screw up Sheridan and Sinclair as names a few times! Trust me!

Are you going to give Vera a heads up for the Iliad Easter egg in season 4 in regards to the ship names?

Lucy Ritchie

You're brilliant, but why in Valen's name did you tell Vera the fans love Keffer?? We all HATE the silly bitch. 😆😆 Even JMS hates him 'cos the character was a network demand.

Lofwyr

Don't worry about getting the name wrong, Jessie. There is a blooper of Bruce Boxleitner getting it wrong (saying Sinclair instead of Sheridan) - in a complex scene with a ton of cast members and extras :)

I‘m starting another rewatch now that you guys have reached season 2. I can‘t wait to hear how Vera reacts to it all. As for Keffer, I keep forgetting that he was even in the show 🤣, can‘t say he left much of an impression.

North

Ah, Keffer. Allegedly the actor was such a prick that JMS decided to just off the character. XD

I'm looking forward to possibly being convinced of Sheridan's okayness, because I didn't like him from minute one, and I have not really warmed to him on rewatch. I don't HATE him, I just have a low-level side-eye sort-of dislike of him. I can't tell if I'm unfairly maligning him because of my knee-jerk distaste for mediocre straight white dudes being in charge and cast as heroic (not saying he's necessarily mediocre... I think? ... but that I worry I'm unfairly lumping him in that category), and I hope this podcast will give me some insight on why he might be more okay than I currently feel he is. (Seconding that the best ship names are in Iain Banks's Culture novels, I was typing this out even as that part of the conversation unfolded.)

It doesn't strike me as odd that Dr. Franklin knows Garibaldi was agnostic. I've always assumed that everyone's religion, or lack thereof, was in their file.

Andrew Michael

Apparently, Ol' Brucey-B is one of my girlfriend's dad's buddies. He's in his phone as "Bruce Nukem" which is pretty cool.

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! THAT IS SO AWESOME!!! Cannot wait to watch when I get home <3

Julian

I think you're unfairly lumping him and I encourage you to give him a chance. It could be the second season would have gotten that much better without him. But he seems to have brought something to the show that was missing in the first season. From my personal experience having watched the series before.

I love this podcast I'm always waiting for the next episode

I’m surprised that Vera hasn’t called Sheridan a dork yet. I was looking forward to adding to my list of “things I’ve heard early season 2 Sheridan described as”. The list currently includes “Golden Retriever” (Claudia Christian), Twink (Bruce B, don’t make me spell his last name, and “youth pastor” (my mom).

I was taking a myth class and reading a translated version so I might have been primed to notice when during Endgame that the ships on Clarke's side were all Trojan or gods on the Trojan side and reverse for B5 and their alliance as Greek including the Agamemnon.

Conrad

Whoa! I never noticed that! That's super clever of JMS.
