Foreign Man in a Foreign Land gave a really wonderful discussion about sex tourism and how it relates to Risa in Star Trek, but sadly I had to cut it down a bit for the actually Sex in Star Trek video, so here is the full, unedited cut of his wonderful thoughts <3 And thank you to Foreign for giving me permission to share this and for doing it!

Foreign Man in a Foreign Land

Thank you so much for having me, Jessie 💜❤️ to be in one of your most ambitious projects to date is such a huge deal 😮‍💨 hope the trekies don't come for me 😂

Watched it immediately and was blown away by the contribution it had to understanding sex tourism. Risa and the sex was a part of their fertility beliefs, at least that is how I understand it. And the sex simply attracts sexual beings

That was fascinating and really informative! Thank you so much for sharing the full cut with us Jessie ♥️ and hope you are getting some rest and feel better soon!

This was a great analysis, and I learned about an awesome and downright lovely new content creator!

I'm less than 3 minutes in Foreign. So remember that the catchphrase for Jessie Gender's YouTube channel is "Nuance is a thing!" Second thang! You be as audacious as you can. So much audacity! Now, I'm gonna sit back and listen to the next 40 minutes of this hot take on Trek. PHASERS SET TO NERD RAGE!

Ok.. finished the vid. Can't find any Nerd Rage to shoot at. I think the lack of LGBTQ representation in those episodes come from the Executive Production in that era. Which is a subject all in and of itself (and kinda one of the points of Jessie's series). That is not to use "it's a product of it's times" excuse for the lack of romantic depictions of two men (having two women acting flirty is gonna push as far as the producers can get away with.. see above disclaimer.) But Foreign, that observation of yours was very spot-on. Some of what you describe, especially from personal experience was difficult to hear. I'm sorry you went through any of that, especially as young as you were. Then framed in the context of sex tourism in your home, all I can really say is that I am thankful that you've shared. I've listened, and if it is even the slightest consolation, I'll remember the story when I'm working on my own creative works, I'll try to do better. I hope you discover better examples of Star Trek that speak to you, Foreign.

This is an incredible bonus feature (and something to tide me over until I can watch the full video)! I love Foreign's content and it's great to see this collab.
